La Belle
Compare prices
Situated in the Sahamit area of central Chiang Rai, La Belle offers straightforward, no-frills lodging with a notably clean and tidy presentation. Its central position puts travellers within easy reach of the city's temples, night markets, and dining strips, making it a practical base for exploring Thailand's northernmost major city. The hotel operates around the clock, which suits guests arriving on overnight buses from Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Rooms are described by guests as clean and spacious, with comfortable dimensions for the price point. At under 20 USD per night, the property represents solid value by regional standards. The atmosphere is quiet and unfussy, appealing to independent travellers and those on a modest budget. Worth noting are a few recurring quirks: beds run on the firm side, which is common across many Thai hotels at this price level, hallway noise has been mentioned by some guests, and the property does not have a lift, meaning luggage will need to be carried upstairs. Electric kettles are also not provided in rooms. Good to know: Travellers with heavy luggage or mobility considerations should bear the absence of an elevator in mind when booking. Chiang Rai's most pleasant weather falls between November and February, when cooler temperatures make sightseeing comfortable, so rooms book up faster during this period. Parking is available on-site, which is a practical bonus for those arriving by rental car or motorbike. Tuk-tuks and taxis are easily accessible from the central location for getting around the city.

A nice place to rest. The room was clean, spacious & comfortable. Their soap smells really good. 😁 Had absolutely no problem with checking in and out. They don't provide an electric kettle in your room, but they do have a nice small dining area next to the reception where you can have hot water for your cup noodles & such. The nearest seven eleven was 500 m away on foot so it was no problem, but we did find quite a lot of cockroaches along the way around the neighborhood when we walked there at night. 🥲
Beautiful and very clean hotel. The beds were a bit too hard for comfort, though. Other than that, everything was great and I had a good stay.
Nice: but beds too hard and noisy hallways To keep this review short. The hotel is overall ok but has some short comings. The beds are quite hard (but not as hard as some other hotel in this area that I've reviewed before). I was woken early in the morning by a group of other guests that occupied several rooms around ours – they decided to have a powwow in the hallway, which was very loud, amplified by the hallway design. The number of parking spaces is limited, compared to the number of rooms. On the positive side, there is free coffee and toast in the mornings 6-10am. Staff is very friendly and speaks English.
