Lanna Loft Hostel
Compare prices
Lanna Loft Hostel sits on Wua Lai Road in the Hai Ya district of Chiang Mai, offering travellers a thoughtfully designed base that balances accessibility with a calm remove from the busiest parts of the old city. The hostel draws consistent praise for its modern, minimalist aesthetic and exceptionally comfortable beds — a rarity in the hostel category — alongside spacious rooms that feel well above the typical standard for this style of accommodation.
What consistently sets Lanna Loft apart, according to guests, is the warmth and attentiveness of the people running it. Hosts Jasmine and Chanin are frequently mentioned by name for making guests feel genuinely welcomed rather than simply checked in. The location works well for most Chiang Mai itineraries — close enough to the old city for easy exploration, near the airport for convenient arrivals and departures, and surrounded by a wide range of food options.
Both dormitory and private room options are available. Guests planning to stay in a dorm are advised to bring their own padlock. Given the hostel's small size and strong reputation, booking in advance is recommended, particularly during Chiang Mai's peak travel season between November and February when demand for quality accommodation in the city is at its highest.

I cannot rave about Lanna Loft enough. I won’t be staying anywhere else in Chiang Mai. They truly make you feel at home and are run by the nicest Humans. (Jasmine, and Chanin 🙏) We booked a Private room for two - it was very clean and came with Towels 🤌. Everyone was very respectful and the dorms were silent overnight. Toilets were very clean and had hot showers too! There is ample workspace and fast WiFi in case you work. There is Coffee and Milo with a Microwave and a Fridge for Communal use. But most of all: you have the best hosts who are expert travel guides in Chiang Mai and beyond. They guided us to the most ethical Elephant Sanctuaries in the region, helped us plan our stay and set us up with Rental Bikes. Jasmine was so kind to take us around the Saturday Market that takes place just outside the Hostel and showed us all the delicious street food (all while taking care of all our dietary restrictions). I’m very glad we found them. Will definitely visit them again. (I know I might sound suspiciously overly positive - but that was just my experience - I found cool friends when I least expected them.) Edit: Thanks Chanin for the Thai Mochis!
Absolutely loved my stay here! It is run by the nicest and friendliest people, it’s in a fantastic location that is just close enough to the old city without it being too hectic. You’re very close to the Silver Temple which is gorgeous as well as all of the amazing markets on the southern section. I enjoyed the fact that it’s more low key than a lot of the other hostels and everyone staying there was very respectful. I had room 3D which is a large private room with windows overlooking the street and it was incredibly comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean and never crowded and the housekeeping staff did a phenomenal job. Highly recommend staying here! My only regret is not staying longer because I completely fell in love with Chiang Mai and Lanna Loft Hostel was a big part of that.
Great hostel overall! The location is amazing, close to airport and any food options you could want! The hosts were amazing too! They were always chatting to us and willing to help when I needed to send a postcard. Even have laundry service if you need it! Beds were comfortable and rooms perfectly A/C Ed. Also most importantly Money is the main star and you must pet her everytime she comes into the lobby!
