Hidden Garden Hostel
Sitting on Wua Lai Road in Chiang Mai's Mueang district, Hidden Garden Hostel has earned a strong reputation among travellers for its combination of cleanliness, comfort, and personal service. The property occupies a well-positioned spot that balances easy access to the city's temples, night markets, and everyday conveniences — including a 7-Eleven directly across the street — with a calmer, less crowded feel than the Old City's busiest areas. Guests consistently highlight the hostel's immaculate upkeep, with rooms described as calm and relaxing even in dormitory configurations. The atmosphere is welcoming for solo travellers and couples alike, and the front desk staff — particularly noted by name in multiple guest reviews — go beyond standard check-in duties to offer personalised recommendations for getting the most out of a Chiang Mai visit. The hostel suits travellers who want a sociable but restful base without sacrificing cleanliness or attentive hospitality. The property operates daily from 7:30am to 10:00pm, which covers most practical check-in and check-out needs, though travellers arriving very late should plan accordingly. Booking directly through the hostel's website is recommended for a straightforward reservation process. Wua Lai Road is also home to Chiang Mai's popular Saturday Walking Street, so guests staying on weekends can walk out the door to one of the city's best night markets.

Visitor Reviews
Stayed at this place with my partner for the week and I gotta say, this is probably one of my top hostels. In terms of location, it's peak - there's a 7-11 right across the street and it's next to the night markets, so you'll never have to walk more than 5 minutes to get food. Grabs and tour vans can easily pick you up too. Service was great. The staff was super friendly and were always asking if we needed anything or if we had any plans - there was an event or tour that they were hosting every other day! Most of the staff was basically fluent in English; if a guest or random tourist was getting flustered, I assure you it's them and not the staff lol. Laundry machines are available, but if you are busy you could also employ a same day laundry service (drop off in the morning and get it in the evening). Perfect if you don't want to spend a night cleaning your clothes! My only con is that the beds could've been more comfortable, but I kinda expected that with a hostel. Overall I'd highly recommend them for a affordable stay in Chiang Mai :)
I had a great stay at Hidden Hostel in Chiang Mai. The hostel was very clean and well maintained, which made my stay comfortable from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—they went out of their way to give great suggestions on things to do, places to eat, and how to get around. The location is also very good, with plenty of restaurants, spas, and other great places nearby. It had a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travelers.
I had an amazing stay at the Hidden Garden Hostel in Chiang Mai! Everything is extremely clean, the beds are super comfortable, and the rooms have a very calm and relaxing atmosphere – even in the 10-bed dorm it was surprisingly quiet. The staff is incredibly friendly and always helpful, which really makes the place feel welcoming. A small note: the lockers could be a bit bigger, but that’s honestly just a minor detail. Overall, absolutely recommend this hostel. I would definitely stay here again! 🔥✨
