Cross Chiang Mai Riverside

4.8(943 reviews)

Tucked along the Ping River in Chiang Mai's Wat Ket neighbourhood, Cross Chiang Mai Riverside is a boutique resort hotel that stands apart from larger, busier properties with its private, intimate atmosphere. The thoughtfully designed rooms are spacious and contemporary, and the overall environment leans toward calm and relaxation — making it a strong choice for couples, honeymooners, or anyone looking to unwind rather than simply pass through. Guests can expect a full-service experience that includes a spa, outdoor pool, rooftop lounge, and a tea bar. Dining is a highlight, with upscale French cuisine on offer alongside a breakfast service that combines a buffet with an à la carte menu. The staff receive consistent praise across guest reviews for attentiveness and warmth, contributing noticeably to the experience from check-in to check-out. On the practical side, Cross Chiang Mai Riverside sits at a more premium price point than many hotels in the region, which is worth factoring into a budget. Given its popularity — particularly with couples celebrating special occasions — booking in advance is advisable, especially during Chiang Mai's peak season between November and February. The hotel's riverside location in Wat Ket also places guests within reach of the Old City while offering a quieter, residential setting away from the busier tourist areas.

Visitor Reviews

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon in Feb 2026 and absolutely loved it. The best hotel of the trip, and whilst it's a more premium price than some in Thailand, if you want to treat yourself then it's definitely worth it. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and always went the extra mile for us. The building and grounds and especially the rooftop pool and Oxygen dining rooms are very enjoyable to spend time in, and the breakfast was exceptional. Clean, large rooms with good facilities, we also had a lovely balcony overlooking the river and would recommend that. We also had the tasting menu at the dining room as a special treat on our last night and that was a real highlight of our trip. It's a lot of money for Chiang Mai food but it was exceptional and we had no regrets treating ourselves to it. Would definitely love to stay again one day.

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel in Chiang Mai and truly loved the environment. The atmosphere was very peaceful and relaxing, making it a perfect place to unwind. Although I forgot to take photos of the room, it was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and sparkling clean. Everything was well maintained, and we had very good quality sleep throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed having breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The views were magnificent, and it was such a nice way to start the day. We also loved spending time in the small garden area — it was very chill and added to the relaxing vibe of the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. One thing to note is that it is more convenient to have a car if you stay here, as it takes about 15 minutes to drive to the city centre. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip.

Unlike those crowded large resorts, this hotel offers a private and relaxing atmosphere. The room layout and interior design are impressive, and the comfort level is top-notch. A huge shout-out to the staff—their English is excellent, and they are incredibly welcoming. The 4th-floor pool is a must-visit; it looks stunning in photos and offers a completely different vibe between day and night. The Michelin-recognized breakfast is the absolute highlight—all dishes are made-to-order with many options to choose from. Don’t miss it! While it's a bit far from the city center, the shuttle bus service makes it easy. Plus, there's a great riverfront seafood restaurant and amazing Northern Thai Curry Noodles within walking distance. Just a heads-up: facilities close at 20:00 and there are fewer staff at night. Overall, a fantastic stay!
