Seasoning Phuket Thai Cooking Class

4.8(386 reviews)

Seasoning Phuket Thai Cooking Class offers an immersive culinary experience in the Thalang area of Phuket, where participants learn to prepare authentic Thai dishes under the guidance of a knowledgeable local couple, Pang and Ern. Their classes cover not just cooking techniques but also the cultural history and traditions behind Thai cuisine, giving visitors a deeper understanding of the food they're preparing. The venue itself is praised for its attractive interior, outdoor spaces, and relaxed atmosphere, making it as much an experience in ambience as it is in learning. Classes are designed to be accessible to complete beginners while remaining engaging for more experienced cooks. Instruction is delivered in clear English, and the format is well-structured yet informal, with instructors known for being warm, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic. Participants typically work hands-on with ingredients across multiple dishes in a single session, leaving with practical skills they can replicate at home. Good to know: The school operates seven days a week from 8am to 9pm, closed only on Mondays, which allows flexibility across most travel itineraries. Booking in advance is strongly recommended, particularly during peak tourist seasons, as class sizes are likely limited. Reservations and class details can be confirmed through their Facebook page. Comfortable, casual clothing suited to working in a kitchen environment is advisable.

Visitor Reviews

This cooking class was exceptional from start to finish. It is led by a very kind couple who speak fluent, clear English, making everything easy to understand even for complete beginners. The setting is beautiful — cooking takes place outdoors under a covered area, surrounded by a garden and water, which creates a calm and authentic atmosphere. Full facilities, including toilets and washbasins, are available and very well maintained. During the class, we prepared four dishes: Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, green curry, and mango sticky rice. The instructions were simple, well structured, and suitable for absolutely everyone — enjoyable, stress-free, and easy to follow. What makes this experience truly special is that it goes beyond just cooking. We were shown how coconut milk and curry paste were traditionally made in the past, and we will also receive photographs from the class. For the price you pay, you get an incredibly rich and meaningful experience. Overall, it is a beautifully thought-out activity with real value. Highly recommended — a well-deserved five stars.

We received a warm welcome for the Thai cooking class. The team is enthusiastic, professional, friendly and humorous. The class is very well structured while maintaining a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. There is a clear introduction and good explanations about the ingredients used in Thai cuisine. The setting is beautiful. A covered outdoor area with a garden and an adjacent pond. Four different dishes are prepared. They are also very flexible when it comes to allergies and dietary requirements. We hope to return soon and highly recommend this cooking class. Thank you, Seasoning Thai Cooking Class, for a wonderful evening and a great experience.

My first ever cooking class abroad and it’s definitely a must do on any trip. This place was amazing, from the interior decor, outdoor spaces, lighting and overall atmosphere. I would recommend if you’re looking for an authentic Thai cooking class experience. The hosts explain the processes and the reasons behind it, I learnt a lot about Thai cuisine, spices and methods of cooking.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
