Elephant Care Park Nai Dee Phuket
Situated in the Thalang district of northern Phuket, this elephant care facility has built a strong reputation among visitors seeking meaningful wildlife encounters grounded in animal welfare principles. Rather than performance-based entertainment, the park centres its programmes around rescued elephants living in a naturalistic setting, giving guests genuine insight into how these animals are cared for on a daily basis. Visitors typically join structured half-day or longer programmes that include feeding, bathing, and walking alongside the elephants, with meals often provided as part of the package. Guides are consistently praised for their enthusiasm and knowledge, adding considerable depth to the experience. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried, reflecting the sanctuary's focus on the animals' wellbeing over commercial throughput. Multiple elephants are present, and interactions are described by guests as personal and unhurried. Good to know: Opening hours are not publicly listed, so booking in advance is strongly recommended — many third-party travel platforms offer discounted rates and can confirm availability. The park is located off Soi Cherngtalay 3 in Choeng Thale, roughly in the northern part of the island near Laguna Phuket, so arrange transport accordingly or enquire about pickup options when booking. Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet and opt for closed-toe shoes suitable for muddy or damp ground, as water-based activities with the elephants are a core part of most programmes.

Visitor Reviews
This was the highlight of my Thailand trip, one of the best experiences I've had so far. The guides are very entertaining, enthusiastic and energetic. They make the whole experience a hundred times more fun and enjoyable. We went with the full care experience package and I highly recommend this to everyone regardless of how much you like elephants. We started with making food for the elephants, feeding them, scrubbing them with mud and then bathing them. They also showed us how traditional Thai food like pad thai and papaya salad is made, which was very tasty. We were vegetarian and they took out the time to prepare a separate vegetarian spread for us even though we were just 7 people. The experience was very wholesome and I have nothing but praises for the entire team for making the experience so special. I would recommend everyone to try this out if you're in Thailand. It will definitely be something you'll remember for the rest of your lives, and that's not even an exaggeration. The sanctuary is cruelty free and they care for the elephants immensely. The elephants are very well behaved and fun to be around. I just wished the day wouldn't end.
Visiting Elephant Care Park Nai Dee was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip. The park is beautiful and provides such a peaceful environment where the elephants are truly cared for with love and respect. I had the chance to feed these gentle giants and even bathe with them, which was such a unique and heartwarming experience. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe while also sharing interesting insights about the elephants and their daily lives. This visit was not just fun, but also meaningful—I left with a deeper appreciation for these amazing animals. It’s an experience I will never forget, and I highly recommend Elephant Care Park Nai Dee to anyone who wants to connect with elephants in an ethical and unforgettable way.
1000% recommended to book this experience! We did the feeding experience and got to feed a friendly and calm elephant and take photos with her during the feeding. Then we went on to the coolest and cutest cafe with capybara plushies all over the place. We got to choose a drink and got canvas bags with markers to write/draw on them. Then we went to feed the capybaras, they were a capybara couple and the sweetest creatures! The cafe staff was incredibly friendly and nice to us, we even got some gift magnets and stickers to take home with us. We really had the best time, thank you!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
