AYA Service PAI
Located on Chalsongkram Road in the heart of Pai, this travel agency functions as a practical one-stop for independent travellers needing to arrange onward transport or explore the surrounding Mae Hong Son region. The minivan service connecting Pai and Chiang Mai is the standout offering — a roughly three-and-a-half-hour journey through winding mountain roads that visitors consistently describe as comfortable, punctual, and safely driven. Tickets purchased in person at the Pai office are available for 150 baht per person on the Pai to Chiang Mai route. Beyond transport, AYA Service organises guided day trips to local attractions including Lod Cave and Pai Canyon. Reviewers highlight professional guides and well-run excursions, making this a reasonable option for travellers who want structure without committing to a larger tour operator. The agency also handles the Chiang Mai to Pai direction, so roundtrip bookings through the same provider are straightforward. Good to know: The office is open every day from 8 AM to 9 PM, making same-day bookings possible, though arriving earlier improves the chance of securing a preferred departure time. At least one visitor reported receiving a ticket with the wrong departure time printed — always check the time on your ticket before leaving the counter, as missed departures are not easily recovered.

Visitor Reviews
150 baht if you book in person from the Pai to Chiang Mai minivan - can’t beat it!! I traveled with AYA roundtrip to Pai twice and had a great experience every time! It is about a 3.5 hour journey with a 15 min rest stop half way for a bathroom break. They leave on time and drive safely. 3 out of the 4 times I had this sweet and iconic driver, I forget his name but he was awesome! He says he’s been driving everyday for 20 years 🫨🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 what a king!!
I used the Aya bus from Chiang Mai to Pai, it was comfortable, safely driven and on time. Once I arrived, I booked the Lod caves and Pai canyon trip. It was amazing, very professionally run by the guides etc, lots seen in one day. Both were spectacular. But be careful at the canyon, there are steep drops but you don't have to go over those routes if you choose not to.
I used the service to get from CM to Pai and back. Everything worked well, I had a safe trip and the driver was on time. Everything as expected. Can recommend and would always use it again

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
