Two Sisters Restaurant
Tucked into the Mae Hi area of Pai, this warmly regarded restaurant has earned a loyal following among locals and travellers alike for its honest cooking, welcoming owners, and a second-floor setting that looks out over the valley and surrounding mountains. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, making it a natural fit for independent travellers and anyone seeking a genuine meal without a tourist markup. The menu draws on Thai and Myanmar influences, with standout dishes including a house-special beef curry served with vegetables and dark rice, a bamboo shoot stir fry with chicken, and a fermented tea leaf salad — a regional speciality worth seeking out. Myanmar green tea rounds out the drinks offering. The kitchen is noted for cooking without MSG, fish sauce, or oyster sauce, which suits visitors with dietary preferences or sensitivities. Prices sit firmly in the budget range, offering strong value for the quality on the plate. Good to know: Two Sisters opens daily from 9:00am to 6:30pm, covering breakfast through to an early dinner. The second floor is the pick for those wanting the mountain view, so it is worth heading up if tables are available. The restaurant's reputation means it can fill up around the lunch hour, and arriving slightly before or after the midday rush tends to make for a more relaxed experience.

Visitor Reviews
I really love this restaurant. I come here very often and it has become one of my favorite places in Pai. The house special, a Beef Curry with vegetables and dark rice, is super delicious and always worth ordering. The view is also beautiful and makes the meal even better. I also really enjoy the Burmese food. The Myanmar Salad is fresh, crispy and full of flavor. One of the best I’ve had. The owner is amazing. He is very kind, very warm and always gives his best. You feel welcome every time you visit. I can only recommend this place. I will keep coming back. ❤️
One of my favourite places to eat in pai. It's cheap, tasty, with wonderful owners. They really care and try their best for each customer. The 2nd floor has an amazing nature with mountain view. The food is delicious, and the olace has both thay and myanmar food. I recommend to try the myanmar salad, it's tasty and different from thai dishes.
Excellent food along with excellent views of the valley. We ordered the bamboo shoot stir fry with chicken and the fermented Tea Leaf salad, also a myanmar green tea (hot). Great flavors and great service. Easy walk from the city.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
