Silent Divers
If you're anxious about putting your face in the water, this is the dive shop I'd point you at. The pattern in the reviews is hard to miss: people who bailed mid-dive got switched to snorkelling without a word of pressure, and still came away happy. Instructors get named again and again, which tells you the teaching is personal rather than processed. One reviewer trained under an instructor with around 30 years underwater.
The trips run to Sail Rock and Koh Tao. Sail Rock is the draw, and the marine life reads like a wish list: schools of trevally, barracuda, giant grouper, coral, and whale sharks if the timing goes your way. They run Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications alongside fun dives and snorkelling, so mixed groups where one person dives and another doesn't are no problem.
The shop sits on Chaweng Beach Road, so you're not trekking across the island at dawn to get on a boat.

Reviews from Google
If you can’t decide which dive center to choose I would so highly recommend Silent Divers. My friend completed an advanced open water PADI course and myself the open water course. My instructor for the course was Alex who is a much needed passionate diver. He is an engaging, supportive and patient teacher, even when your ears won’t equalise very well haha. The training was seamless from the online theory to the final dive. My friend’s instructor, other instructors on board and boat crew were all also extremely vibrant, skilled and professional individuals. Had such a surreal experience a group of mates and I went for another dive with Alex. Every day and dive site had absolutely stunning coral and marine life. Each completely unique experience with a delicious lunch in between the dives. 10/10 experience.
Such an incredible experience! The diversity of marine life at Sail Rock is unique. School of trevally, barracuda, giant grouper beautiful corals and whale sharks. It was absolutely amazing. And of course special thanks to Pepe, the dive guide, who is professional, attentive and cheerful , explained all the details before diving (including the dive site and safety information) The crew was helpful as well. It was a fantastic experience to get on Silent Divers
It was very very great, no regrets. As a teenager this is very nice experience and great moments. Also, being with our instructor Jose makes me more confident, safe, and happy. By his guidance it helps me to stay calm every time and everywhere. For the silent divers, they were very gentle and helpful that makes me to be more motivated and focused. Overall experience was an 100% Excellent. Hope to see you again soon.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Popular Activities Online
Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
