Overlap Stone 2
Perched on a steep hill in the Maret area of Koh Samui, this natural viewpoint centres on a dramatic balancing rock formation that draws photographers and sightseers alike. The elevated position offers sweeping views across the island's coastline in both directions, making it one of the more rewarding scenic stops on the island. The atmosphere is relatively peaceful compared to Koh Samui's more commercial attractions, with an on-site restaurant that takes full advantage of the panoramic setting. Visitors can expect a genuine sense of arrival at the top, with the geological formations providing a compelling focal point alongside the coastal scenery. An entrance fee of 200 THB per person applies. The combination of natural interest, open views, and a relaxed hilltop setting appeals to a broad range of travellers. Good to know: The road to the top is steep, and the final stretch is unpaved, so those arriving by scooter or car should be confident on challenging inclines. For those who would rather not drive the ascent, a free shuttle truck operates from the base area. Early morning visits tend to offer clearer skies and a quieter experience before tour groups arrive, though the site is open around the clock. Daylight hours are strongly recommended to make the most of the views.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing spot on top of the hill. Need to know that it’s a steep hill to drive up so if you’re driving by yourself, just be careful., if you don’t have experience driving on steep hills, better take a special taxi from the bottom. Also, it’s around 300 -400 meters to walk up a steep hill, so also best to wear sneakers. The view is incredible. It’s lots of spots for photos and videos. There is also a restaurant we haven’t tried yet but for sure I will come back one day to do that. Recommend for everyone visiting Samui to come over here and enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean.
The most beautiful location on the entire island. A lot of instapoints with a great panoramic view to both sides. The entrance fee is 200tbh per person and it's totally worth it. There is a nice restaurant with pretty high prices. You can walk there about 10 minutes from the latest bike parking, or they arrange free shuttle. The only cons - it's too crowded.
Overlap Stone is an amazing viewpoint with breathtaking views over Koh Samui. The huge balancing rock is impressive and makes for great photos. The short hike up adds a bit of adventure, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to enjoy nature. Highly recommended!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
