Yoga Black Cat & White Cat
Nestled in the quieter Lamai area of Koh Samui, this intimate yoga studio has built a loyal following among both visitors and locals for its warm community atmosphere and diverse class offerings. Regular workshops, yoga sessions led by instructors including Michael and Olga, and immersive gong sound bath experiences make it a genuinely distinctive wellness destination on the island — one that guests frequently describe as a highlight of their entire trip. The studio carries a cosy, grounded energy that feels welcoming to practitioners of all levels, from first-timers to those returning specifically to deepen their practice. The gong sound bath classes in particular draw strong praise, with participants noting a sense of calm and connection that lingers well beyond the session itself. The sense of community here is a recurring theme — this is not a transactional drop-in gym but a place where meaningful experiences and connections seem to form naturally. Good to know: Yoga Black Cat & White Cat does not currently list opening hours or a website publicly, so reaching out directly before visiting is advisable, particularly during the busy December to February high season when Koh Samui sees its highest visitor numbers. Wear light, breathable clothing suited to yoga practice, and arrive a few minutes early to settle into the relaxed atmosphere before class begins. The Lamai location sits away from the more hectic northern tourist areas, making it easy to combine a session here with a quieter beach day nearby.

Visitor Reviews
During a visit to Koh Samui in December, I had the pleasure of attending several workshops at **Black Cat White Cat Yoga in Lamai**, and it became one of the highlights of my time on the island. The studio has a beautiful, calm atmosphere that immediately helps you slow down and settle in. It feels more like a peaceful sanctuary than a typical yoga studio. The space is thoughtfully created, simple and grounding, allowing you to disconnect from the busy energy of the island and reconnect with yourself. What makes the experience truly special is **Olya**, the founder and teacher. She brings a rare sense of serenity and true beauty to the room. Her presence is calm, attentive and quietly inspiring. She carries a natural beauty and grace that reflects the same balance and mindfulness she teaches. Her guidance throughout the workshops felt gentle, thoughtful and inclusive, making everyone feel welcome regardless of experience. The workshops themselves go beyond a standard yoga class. They blend movement, breath and moments of reflection in a way that feels both grounding and meaningful. The small group setting also creates a warm sense of connection between participants. Among the many wellness offerings on Koh Samui, please let yourself experience **Black Cat White Cat Yoga . I highly recommend visiting if you are looking for a thoughtful and inspiring yoga experience on the island. Jason D - Australia
Why do we even travel? Probably, as many reasons, as there are places, people and experiences. And, sometimes, if we’re lucky, we get our answer. It may reveal itself slowly, of course, in some form … Cacao, tarot tells, Deep Sound Journey By The Sea, blue skies fade to stars ... Is that luck? Or is that, when preparation meets opportunity? Does it even matter? If you do get the chance, I highly recommend joining @yogastudiosamui for a deep sound journey by the sea. Where the vibrations from the gongs and singing bowls blend with the rhythm of the waves. A profoundly calming experience that nurtures body, heart, and mind.
From the moment I walked into this cozy yoga studio the atmosphere was peaceful, welcoming, and full of positive energy. Olga was the teacher for a beautiful gong bath class which left me grounded and energised and it was such a stress relieving experience. I am a yoga teacher myself and after my visit I actually joined Olga and her yoga teacher team and I teach my own mobility flow class in the very same studio hoping that my customers leave with the same positive experience as I did not too long ago. I highly recommend any of the classes, not just mine 😉 🫶
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
