Lamai Muay Thai Camp

Lamai Muay Thai Camp is the long-runner of Koh Samui's gym scene, training travelers behind Lamai beach for well over a decade with the kind of community feel the newer fitness campuses can't manufacture. The format is traditional, with two group sessions a day, six days a week — skipping, shadow work, long pad rounds with Thai trainers, bag work, clinch and optional sparring — with everyone from first-timers to fight-camp regulars sharing the open-air training floor. The gym's returning guests are its reputation; plenty of people come back season after season and structure their Samui trips around it.

Lamai itself is the quieter of Samui's two main beach towns, and the camp's location is a genuine advantage. The beach is minutes away for post-training swims, the night market and restaurants are walkable, and accommodation at every budget sits within a short stroll, so no scooter is strictly required. Students who progress can take fights at the island's stadiums with the gym cornering.
