Ocean Rhyme - Thai Seafood Restaurant & Bar
Situated on Patak Road in Karon, Ocean Rhyme operates as the restaurant within the Thavorn Palm resort, serving Thai seafood and a broad menu to both hotel guests and outside visitors. The kitchen draws consistent praise for its extensive selection, with reviewers noting a menu large enough to satisfy varied tastes across multiple visits. The bar produces well-crafted cocktails, and the overall atmosphere reflects the relaxed, coastal character of Karon — comfortable for solo diners, couples, and groups alike. Service is a recurring highlight in visitor feedback, with staff members noted by name for their attentiveness and willingness to guide guests through the menu. The kitchen has also demonstrated flexibility, including accommodating a guest who brought in a personal fishing catch to be prepared — a detail that speaks to the team's hospitality. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all represented in guest experiences, making it a versatile option throughout the day. Good to know: As Ocean Rhyme sits within the Thavorn Palm resort, non-hotel guests are welcome but may want to confirm current access and seating availability before visiting, particularly during peak season. Specific opening hours are not listed online, so contacting the resort directly or checking social media beforehand is advisable if timing is important. Resort-casual attire suits the setting well.

Visitor Reviews
The food and hospitality at Ocean Rhyme and by extension, the Thavorn Palm is exceptional. We have enjoyed breakfast daily while staying and dinner one evening after a long day at the beach. They have special themes throughout the week including BBQ buffet and seafood, so the options and always fresh and exciting. There are plenty of European, Australian and Asian buffet choices at breakfast, including an omelette chef and soup chef. There is something for everyone, including the kids who have their own catered section. Stay at the best resort in Karon and enjoy Ocean Rhyme. You won’t be disappointed.
What can I say besides amazing! My husband brought his catch in from his fishing trip and they were happy to cook it. Both types of fish came out super good, and that's saying something cause I'm afraid of eating fish. The staff were very nice, especially One, and they were all curious about the fishing trip. We didn't eat their regular offerings, but I'm sure it's very good considering how awesome the fish was when we put them on the spot!
Great experience at Ocean Rhyme Restaurant in Phuket. The food selection is excellent and the cocktails are very well made. What really made the visit special was the service — Beer and Wan were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
