Visitor Reviews
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kata Night Market is a lively and enjoyable place to visit in the evening, especially if you’re staying around the Kata area. There are many food stalls with a wide variety of choices, including halal options, making it convenient for Muslim travellers as well. Prices are generally reasonable, and it’s a great spot to try local street food, snacks, drinks, and desserts. The atmosphere is busy, colourful, and full of energy, giving you a nice night market experience without having to travel far. It can get quite crowded during peak hours, so seating may be limited, but overall it’s a nice place for casual food hunting and soaking in the local vibe.
A fantastic, relaxed alternative to the Sunday Old Town Market! We loved Kata Night Market because it was much less crowded and easier to navigate than the Sunday market in Phuket Town. Despite being quieter, it still offers a huge variety of delicious food stalls and plenty of shops for clothes and souvenirs. Tip: Be sure to barter! You can get some great deals on the merchandise if you negotiate. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and want a more chilled-out shopping and dining experience.
My hotel is right in the heart of Kata Night Market, and it’s an amazing place to explore. Tons of delicious food options, fresh fruit, ice cream, drinks, bars, entertainment, and great music. I really enjoyed the chicken dumplings and the baked potatoes. Fun atmosphere and lots to try. A must-visit spot. Highly recommended.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
