Family Thaifood & Seafood
Tucked along Soi 6 in Tambon Ao Nang, this unpretentious local eatery has earned a loyal following among both visitors and residents for its straightforward approach to authentic Thai cooking and fresh seafood. The extensive menu covers a broad range of Thai classics, with standout dishes including tom yum coconut soup, papaya salad, fresh prawns, and lemon fish. Portions are generous relative to the price point, and condiments at the table allow diners to adjust spice levels to their own preference — a practical touch for travellers with varying heat tolerance. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, leaning closer to a neighbourhood Thai restaurant than a tourist-oriented establishment. Service is consistently described as friendly, and the kitchen moves quickly, which suits travellers working around busy itineraries. Some diners have been offered complimentary watermelon while waiting during busier periods, a small detail that speaks to the hospitable approach. The menu skews toward lunch and dinner rather than breakfast, where the selection is more limited. Open every day from 10am to 10pm, the restaurant draws steady crowds throughout the day, with tables notably filling by mid-afternoon. Arriving slightly ahead of the main lunch and dinner rushes — before noon or after 2pm — can reduce waiting time. The Soi 6 address in Ao Nang is reachable on foot from most nearby accommodation or by a short ride, making it a convenient option for multiple visits during a stay in Krabi.

Visitor Reviews
Food was good. Leaves you some room to modify the taste to your liking. At 3pm there's a lot of occupied tables and people just continuously go in and out. We were given some watermelons while we wait for our food. We tried the seafood tom yum, papaya salad, fried chili & pepper fish fillets, fried squid and some thai teas. All of them came out tasting good. I just had to ask for extra chilis to make mine spicy. My picky eater liked the tom yum. After the meal we were given banana gummies. That was the first time we had those and it was good.
Had a decent breakfast here but wouldn’t return or recommend these dishes to you. The crab omelette tasted of old oil and barely had crab in it. I didn’t taste any. It was also propped up on cabbage to make it see larger than it was. Garlic chicken was decent but nothing to brag about. Mango smoothie was of course delicious. Bathrooms in the back were OK, I’ve seen worse. Cool process for buying lobster.
Best restaurant I’ve had so far in Ao Nang. The food came out really quickly. Rather authentic taste. Would be good if it’s spicier. The food portion is rather good and on the cheaper side, compared to other tourist-made famous spots. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes. Around 600+bht for all these dishes for 2

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
