517 Fisherman Seafood Restaurant Patong
Positioned on Rat Uthit Song Roi Pi Road in the heart of Patong, this seafood-focused restaurant has earned a devoted following among both tourists and locals through a consistent commitment to fresh, honestly prepared food. The menu centres on daily catches and classic Thai seafood dishes, with highlights including curried lobster, BBQ chilli oysters, and raw shrimp with fish sauce — straightforward coastal cooking that prioritises quality over presentation. A broader selection of barbecue, Western, and Thai staples makes it a practical choice for groups with mixed tastes, while a cocktail bar rounds out the offering for those who want to settle in for the evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, reflecting Patong's casual beach culture. Visitors regularly single out the warmth of the owners and staff as a defining part of the experience, and the restaurant's cleanliness standards have been noted approvingly by repeat visitors. Its location close to the Patong beach strip makes it a natural stop whether arriving after a day on the water or looking for a sit-down dinner away from the busier tourist corridors. Specific opening hours are not listed online, so contacting the restaurant before arrival is advisable — particularly during low season, when some Patong establishments keep irregular schedules. During peak tourist periods, arriving early in the evening is a practical way to avoid a wait, as the restaurant's reputation draws a steady crowd.

Visitor Reviews
One of the best seafood experiences I’ve had in Thailand. This fish restaurant in Phuket truly captures what fresh, honest cooking should be. From the moment you arrive, you can tell quality is the priority—everything feels authentic, relaxed, and confidently done without trying too hard. The fish was exceptionally fresh, cooked to perfection, and seasoned in a way that lets the natural flavors shine. Whether grilled, steamed, or prepared in traditional Thai style, every bite tasted clean, balanced, and thoughtfully made. The sauces and sides complemented the seafood beautifully without overpowering it. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff were happy to explain dishes, recommend the catch of the day, and made the whole experience feel personal rather than rushed or touristy. Add to that the atmosphere—simple, local, and charming—and you have a place that feels like a true Phuket gem. Fair prices for the quality you get, generous portions, and consistency across the table. If you’re in Phuket and want real seafood done right, this place is a must-visit. I would come back without hesitation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I spent the whole day fishing in the sea. After that I had a problem with checking in at my new hotel, and had to look for another one. By the time everything was set up, I was just exhausted. But I had one mission to be accomplished: to have my prey be cooked. I checked several small eateries with less people, but they refused. To my surprise, this big restaurant with a big crowd, and during rush hour, agreed immediately. The result was just awesome. And I only paid 150 for my fish. Many thanks to the whole staff and especially to the man who greeted me and made this happen. A malaysian man, owner or manager, or just a good guy. The man from Russia who talked with the manager in Chinese.
Got the curried lobster and BBQ'd chilli oysters. Food was fresh & delicious and the cocktails were solid as well. Very nice owners. Went back multiple times and saw them fully draining + cleaning the tanks during the mid-day lull. Not the cheapest option in Patong, but strongly recommend if you're a seafood person.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
