Above Eleven Rooftop Bar & Restaurant
Perched on the rooftop of Fraser Suites along Sukhumvit Road, Above Eleven specialises in Nikkei cuisine — a Peruvian-Japanese fusion — alongside an inventive cocktail program. The combination is distinctive for Bangkok's rooftop scene, where most venues lean toward generic bar menus. Dishes are designed for sharing, with an emphasis on bold flavours and careful presentation, while the bar turns out creative takes on classic cocktails that have become a draw in their own right. The setting sits high above one of Bangkok's busiest corridors, offering open skyline views across the city. The atmosphere shifts noticeably across the evening — earlier hours tend to be more relaxed and conversation-friendly, while the venue picks up energy later into the night. Staff are noted for being knowledgeable and attentive, including a willingness to accommodate off-menu requests where possible. The venue opens daily at 5 PM and runs through to 2 AM, making it a workable choice for both dinner plans and late-night drinks. Smart casual is the minimum dress standard, and the venue enforces it — collared shirts are expected for men, and sandals or athletic wear are likely to result in entry being declined. Checking the dress code on their website before visiting is worthwhile, particularly for those coming directly from sightseeing. Reservations are not always essential but are advisable on weekends or for larger groups. The upscale pricing reflects the location, views, and quality of the food and drinks program.

Visitor Reviews
We visited Above Eleven strictly for drinks, and the experience exceeded all expectations from the very beginning. The bar offers exceptionally flavourful and creative twists on classic cocktails, each crafted with precision and delivering complete satisfaction in both taste and presentation. The team was remarkably attentive and genuinely welcoming — their level of hospitality truly stands out and elevates the entire experience. We were fortunate to be seated at a corner table, which allowed us to fully appreciate the breathtaking panorama of Bangkok’s skyscrapers, complemented by a truly phenomenal sunset. An outstanding venue for refined cocktails, impeccable service, and unforgettable city views.
Had the best night here. We originally came the night before but weren’t wearing smart enough clothes. We were told shoes and a smart shirt. I think polo shirts are acceptable but I’d check first. However this also meant we booked ahead and got a table next to the view. The view was great and staying local to the area we didn’t feel we would have needed to go to the centre to one of the more heavily promoted rooftop bars. Yes you pay more than is usual for Thailand, but you do for any rooftop bar anywhere in the world. Service was great and very attentive. Our spend takes into account the fact we had food and a few gin and tonic’s each.
Absolutely loved our evening at Above Eleven! The food was amazing – fresh, flavorful Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese fusion) dishes that were beautifully presented and full of bold tastes. We tried several items and everything exceeded expectations. The view is simply gorgeous – panoramic skyline of Bangkok twinkling at night from the rooftop, making it feel magical and unforgettable. Staff were top notch – super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend for a special night out, date, or just soaking in the vibes with great cocktails. Will definitely be back! 5/5

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
