Wang Sai Seafood
A well-established seafood restaurant in Ao Nang, Wang Sai Seafood draws a predominantly local crowd — a reliable signal of quality in a tourist-heavy area. The menu centres on traditional Thai coastal cooking, with standout dishes including tom yum goong, fresh oysters, and a broad selection of seafood prepared in classic Thai style. Portions are consistently described as generous, making shared ordering across the table the practical approach. The setting is casual and unpretentious, with the added draw of sunset views over the water that make early evening one of the most appealing times to visit. Service receives regular praise for attentiveness, and the lively atmosphere — the restaurant reportedly seats upwards of 200 diners on busy nights — gives the place an energetic, communal feel. Some visitors note the food is solidly good rather than revelatory, but the combination of fresh seafood, large portions, and a scenic outlook makes it competitive at its mid-range price point. Good to know: Wang Sai Seafood is open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, so there are no closure days to plan around. The restaurant fills quickly during high season, and arriving before 19:00 is advisable to avoid a wait for seating. The Ao Nang address is walkable from most accommodation in the area, so transport is generally not required.

Visitor Reviews
I loved this place and was very happy with the seafood. It was full so probably over 200 people and there were only two of us Westerners in there, so obviously frequented by many locals. The fresh oysters, curried crab, fried rice and asparagus were all really good. But it was the salt steamed shrimp that were truly excellent! I thought it was priced about right for the quality and portion size.
I was there last weekend. Order bunch of dish. Everything are so delish. High recomended for this restaurant. A very good service (Da) keep us entertain. For Malaysian visitor you wont disapointed with this company, 2 day before that i get hopping island with the same company At the best Wang sai is the best company in aonang
Absolutely delicious food with extremely large portions. I would recommend ordering a few plates to share amongst the table. We loved everything we ordered, & this is a restaurant that we will definitely be visiting again. It’s lovely to be able to sit right at the large open window looking over the sea.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
