Thai Kitchen 2 Restaurant
Tucked along a stretch of similar-looking eateries in Koh Samui, Thai Kitchen 2 distinguishes itself through the consistency and quality of its cooking rather than its exterior. The kitchen turns out a broad range of authentic Thai dishes, with standouts including fried fish in red curry, grilled chicken, and papaya salad — the latter frequently noted for being among the better versions available on the island. Portions are generous, pricing is considered fair for what is served, and the staff are consistently described as attentive and welcoming without being intrusive. It is the kind of place that earns repeat visits, with some diners returning on consecutive nights. The atmosphere is relaxed and unfussy, with the emphasis placed squarely on the food. Both tourists and locals eat here, which speaks to the kitchen's grounding in genuine Thai cooking rather than a menu adjusted for visitor expectations. The restaurant operates seven days a week, opening at noon and staying open until midnight — a longer trading window than many comparable places on the island, making it a practical option for those eating late. Good to know: Visiting during the early lunch window between noon and 14:00 tends to be quieter, which is useful for those who prefer a more unhurried meal. Casual attire is entirely appropriate. The restaurant's website at thaikitchen2.com is worth checking ahead of a visit for any current menu details or updates.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing food and service. Had grilled chicken and Papaya Salad. Both very generous portions and the papaya salad is one of the best I’ve had in Thailand so far. Will definitely be returning g.
The restaurant is conveniently located, and the food quality is consistently good, with a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes. We enjoyed it so much that we had dinner here four nights in a row! The friendly staff are also one of the main reasons we love this place.
We had the chance to visit this restaurant and was truly impressed. The service is excellent – the staff are attentive, welcoming, and very friendly, which immediately makes you feel comfortable. The highlight is definitely the Thai cuisine. The dishes are authentic, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. The flavors are well-balanced, the ingredients are of high quality, and everything is beautifully presented. For anyone who loves Thai food, this place Is a good Choice. What I also appreciate is the variety on the menu: besides Thai specialties, they also offer European dishes. This makes it a perfect choice when dining with a group, as there is something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, this restaurant stands out with its friendly service, excellent food, and pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely come back and can highly recommend it both to fans of Thai cuisine and to those who prefer more classic European dishes.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
