Thai Kitchen 2 Restaurant
Thai Kitchen 2 Restaurant earns its loyal following through consistently excellent cooking that holds up visit after visit — some diners return four nights in a row. Situated on a street of similar-looking restaurants in Koh Samui, it distinguishes itself through quality that goes beyond appearances, with dishes like fried fish in red curry, papaya salad, and grilled chicken drawing particular praise for their flavour and generous sizing. The kitchen delivers authentic Thai cooking that appeals to both tourists and locals, and the staff are consistently noted for being attentive, welcoming, and friendly without being overbearing. The atmosphere is unfussy and relaxed, with the focus firmly on the food rather than the setting. The menu covers a broad range of classic Thai dishes prepared with evident care, and the pricing is considered fair for the quality on offer. That combination of honest cooking, good service, and approachable prices makes it a reliable choice for any meal from lunch through to a late dinner. Good to know: The restaurant opens daily at noon and stays open until midnight, which makes it one of the more flexible dining options on the island for late eaters. Visiting during the early lunch window (12:00–14:00) typically offers a quieter experience, better suited to taking time over the menu. For current specials or additional menu details, the restaurant's website at thaikitchen2.com is worth checking before visiting. Casual attire is entirely appropriate.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing food and service. Had grilled chicken and Papaya Salad. Both very generous portions and the papaya salad is one of the best I’ve had in Thailand so far. Will definitely be returning g.
The restaurant is conveniently located, and the food quality is consistently good, with a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes. We enjoyed it so much that we had dinner here four nights in a row! The friendly staff are also one of the main reasons we love this place.
We had the chance to visit this restaurant and was truly impressed. The service is excellent – the staff are attentive, welcoming, and very friendly, which immediately makes you feel comfortable. The highlight is definitely the Thai cuisine. The dishes are authentic, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. The flavors are well-balanced, the ingredients are of high quality, and everything is beautifully presented. For anyone who loves Thai food, this place Is a good Choice. What I also appreciate is the variety on the menu: besides Thai specialties, they also offer European dishes. This makes it a perfect choice when dining with a group, as there is something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, this restaurant stands out with its friendly service, excellent food, and pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely come back and can highly recommend it both to fans of Thai cuisine and to those who prefer more classic European dishes.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
