Why go, and how to do it well
Go for the drinks first. This rooftop on the 26th floor of the AVANI Riverside sits on the Thon Buri bank, which means the Chao Phraya and the whole east-side skyline are laid out in front of you rather than behind you. That's the pitch, and it delivers. A DJ plays on the upper bar level, and reviewers reserve their warmest words for the bartenders and what comes out of the shaker.
The kitchen is decent without being the reason you came. King crab risotto, lamb chops and a dessert called Baby Banana get named repeatedly, but so does the feeling that the bill runs ahead of the plate. Service is generally attentive once you've got someone's attention, though a few people have waited too long for a menu after being seated. If you want a big meal rather than a big view, Bangkok has better value elsewhere.

After 2 1/2 weeks in this beautiful country, we bid adieux in glorious style. The Avani hotel was welcoming and spectacular in every way. From a lovely reception, to a well appointed room with a wall of windows providing for expansive views of the river to poolside relaxation with lovely cocktails and breathtaking views of the entire city, nothing was short of amazing. I must add a very special note of thanks to George our bartender at SEEN. If you are fortunate enough to have him serve you, he will most certainly not dissapoint!! We can't wait to return or to even try one of your other locations if Avani is reflective of the Minor Hotel brand. Thank you for making our final night in Thailand a celebratory memory!
Pan & Kik took care of us tonight. The service is excellent. The view is incredible as you can see the river like a panoramic scene. And it’s full moon tonight so it’s more scenic. The food is good especially King crab risotto and lamb shops and the dessert “Baby Banana” is really delicious.
Beautiful, unfiltered views of the city. Bar was amazing, great vibes, service and fabulous cocktails. Live DJ up above, very cool experience. Restaurant was slightly disappointing, we had a reservation and were sat down and not given a menu by the host. We waited up to 10 minutes and had to ask one of the waiters for a menu. Service the rest of the night was fabulous however. We had a lovely waiter who took care of us and was very attentive! The food was tasty, maybe slightly overpriced, portions were generous on the starters. Nothing to rave home about though. I wouldn’t go again for the restaurant, but the vibes and drinks of the bar were incredible.
