Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market)
Located along the Chao Phraya riverbank south of Chinatown in the Phra Nakhon district, Pak Khlong Talat is Bangkok's largest and most celebrated flower market, drawing wholesale buyers, florists, and curious visitors alike. The market is renowned for its extraordinary variety of fresh-cut flowers, garlands, and ornamental arrangements, with shops and stalls packed so densely that blooms seem to stretch as far as the eye can see. Beyond the flowers, the surrounding area includes fruit and vegetable vendors, food stalls, riverside cafés, and the kind of behind-the-scenes wholesale activity — flower sorting, wrapping, and bundling — that gives the market a raw, working authenticity rarely found in more tourist-oriented destinations. The atmosphere is bustling and sensory-rich, with colour and fragrance at every turn. Visitors will notice a distinction between the outer stalls and the interior market areas, with different merchandise and energy in each. The surrounding streets also offer some well-regarded local dining options, making it easy to combine a market visit with a meal. While the market technically operates around the clock, the experience is most rewarding in the early morning hours when wholesale activity is at its peak, stock is freshest, and the full spectacle of Bangkok's flower trade is on vivid display. Early afternoon visits are also viable, with plenty of shops still open and active. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are advisable, as the ground can be wet and uneven in the working areas of the market.

Visitor Reviews
Amazing wholesale flower market south of Chinatown. We went early afternoon and there we still tons of open shops and flower bunches as far as the eyes could see. Don't forget to explore down the small alleys where there are even more! I ended up picking up two large bouquets (ended up being too many flowers for our vase but still very pretty) - only $7 USD.
Nice to go for a stroll. There are a lot of food stalls, restaurants and cafés around this area - all of them of highest quality. Best to come in the early morning hours, but there's action all around the clock.
One of the most beautiful, intriguing, and aromatic markets I’ve ever been too. It was cool to see not just the flower shops but also places where a lot of behind the scenes work happens such as flowers for major events, local hotels, and more. We didn’t even do a tour or anything here, just decided to walk through and was such an amazing experience. Definitely worth checking out.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
