Blue Elephant Phuket Cooking School & Restaurant
Housed in a beautifully restored colonial-era building surrounded by tropical gardens, this dual-purpose venue offers a genuine escape from Phuket's busier tourist areas. The setting is consistently praised by visitors for its elegant interiors, refined atmosphere, and meticulous attention to detail — from the architectural features down to the table service. The menu centres on authentic Thai cuisine presented with care, and the kitchen team is known for guiding guests through each dish with genuine attentiveness. Beyond the restaurant, the cooking school provides structured classes led by experienced instructors covering traditional techniques, regional Thai specialties, and ingredient selection — a practical option for travellers who want culinary knowledge to take home alongside the dining experience. The combination of fine dining and serious food education makes it a versatile destination, equally suited to a special occasion dinner, a celebratory meal, or a half-day cooking session. Open daily from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM for both lunch and dinner, the venue is upscale in both price and presentation. Advance reservations are strongly recommended for dining, and are essentially essential for cooking classes, which run with limited availability. Prospective cooking class guests should confirm session times and duration directly with the venue before arrival, as these details are not always visible through third-party booking platforms.

Visitor Reviews
It was our last night in Phuket and what a great way to end this trip with this highlight dinner! The place is so beautiful and full of little details with decor and the food was superb! We ordered the black garlic avocado scallops as starters and they were so flavourful, we also ordered the massaman lamb and crab curry, both so tasty and good, we also ordered the piña colada, one with alcohol and one without and both were so good! You could taste the coconut in them. To finish off the night, we ordered the famous coconut flan to share and oh my goodness! It was heavenly great! The texture, the flavour, the presentation of the dish, it was amazing! And don’t get me started with the service received from both Erwin and Ben, from the minute we sat down, they were so attentive, friendly and great overall. We couldn’t have a better night to finish this trip, we are sad to go but hopeful to return in the future!
Restaurant located in a very exclusive and private setting. A colonial type building with lush and large garden. The building is well maintained and furnished tastefully. Menu offered a wide selection of fusion Phuket peranakan and Thai food. We opted for the set menu as that'll pretty cover many different varieties of food to sample. From starters to soup to two main course and dessert... Offered a diverse taste and experience. Overall well worth the visit. Definitely lived up to its Michelin recognition. Special mention and thanks to Edwin for the very personalised and warm service extended... Making the dining experience complete.
Erwin and Will were very kind to serve our meals and explain each of the course menu. The food was very nice. This place will be especially memorable for me because of the proposal and the great food and flowers and wine and dessert and cute elephant souvenirs that were all part of the event. Also, I recommend you to take pictures around 5:30 in front of the building because the sunshind is beautiful. Nighttime is also beautiful because of the lights outside that remind me of the shooting stars. Overall. it was a very pleasant experience and I really recommend it.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
