Why go, and how to do it well
After You is the dessert café every Bangkok visitor hears about. Two cousins opened the first one in Thong Lo in 2007, the Shibuya honey toast became a craze with queues out of the door, and the brand now has branches across Bangkok and overseas. The honey toast is still the order, a thick block of toasted bread soaked in the house honey syrup with butter and ice cream, and the Japanese-style shaved ice, kakigori, comes in Thai flavors such as mango sticky rice and Thai tea.
The Siam Paragon branch on the ground floor is the easiest one to reach for a visitor, inside the mall at BTS Siam, and it is the natural dessert stop after a day around Siam Square, MBK and the Jim Thompson House. Desserts are built for sharing, so one plate between two is usually enough.
It is open from 10:00 to 22:00 with the mall. If the queue is long, the brand has other counters around Siam, including one in Siam Center next door.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
Use Grab for Delivery
The Grab app works for food delivery across Thailand, letting you order from street stalls and restaurants alike. It's invaluable on rainy days or when you want to eat in your hotel.
