We-La-Dee Cafe & Restaurant
Tucked away from the main highway in San Sai district, We-La-Dee Cafe & Restaurant is a hidden gem that rewards those willing to venture slightly beyond central Chiang Mai. The space is visually striking, featuring a warm and elegant interior with notable collections including Star Wars characters and teddy-themed decor, making it a conversation-starting setting for families, groups, and casual diners alike. Its location makes it a natural stop for travellers returning from nearby attractions such as Sticky Waterfall. The menu spans a wide variety of dishes, with visitor feedback consistently highlighting fresh, flavourful food and attentive, professional service. While the wine list is noted as limited, the food selection more than compensates. The mid-range pricing positions it as an accessible choice without sacrificing quality, and the overall atmosphere leans relaxed and welcoming rather than formal. A practical note for planning: We-La-Dee opens daily from 11:00 to 21:00 with no variation across the week, making it a reliable dining option on any day. The restaurant can get busy, and on at least one occasion a fully booked dining room has led staff to direct guests to a partner venue across the road. Booking ahead is advisable, particularly for groups or weekend visits, to secure a table in the main space.

I tried this place on my way back to Chiang Mai from sticky waterfall. The restaurant is very well decorated, service staff are friendly and professional. Menu covers a wide range of selection. The price is consider very cheap for such food, service and nice restaurant. It is much better than those over crowded and pricey tourist restaurants in town. Everyone should definitely come and try if happened to pass by
The restaurant is hiding from main highway. It has nice ambience with collection of Star Wars characters. The food is tasty with wide varieties menu but wine list is limited. Service is second to none. I went there on weekdays, so parking is plentiful with efficient parking staff. The restaurant is worth many revisit.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
