We-La-Dee Cafe & Restaurant

4.7(1,390 reviews)$$$$

Tucked off the main highway in San Sai district, We-La-Dee Cafe & Restaurant is a visually distinctive dining spot that draws visitors with its warm, elegantly decorated interior. The space features notable collections of Star Wars characters and teddy-themed decor, creating an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and characterful — equally suited to families, groups, and solo diners. Its location makes it a natural stop for travellers returning from nearby attractions such as Sticky Waterfall. The menu covers a wide variety of dishes, with visitor feedback consistently pointing to fresh, flavourful food and professional, friendly service. While the wine list is noted as limited, the food selection is broad and well-regarded. Mid-range pricing makes it an accessible option without any compromise on quality or atmosphere, and the setting leans decidedly relaxed rather than formal. A practical note for planning: We-La-Dee opens daily from 11:00 to 21:00 across all seven days, making it a reliable choice regardless of when an itinerary falls. The restaurant does get busy, and on occasion a fully booked dining room has led staff to direct guests to a partner venue across the road. Booking ahead is advisable, particularly for weekend visits or groups, to secure a table in the main space.

We-La-Dee Cafe & Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is simply delicious – every dish I've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. What's even better is how reasonably priced everything is, especially given the high quality. Beyond the fantastic food, the service truly stands out. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is enjoyable. They're always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations. As an added bonus, it's wonderful to see that We-La-Dee is accessible, featuring a convenient wheelchair ramp. This thoughtful inclusion makes it a welcoming spot for everyone. I highly recommend We-La-Dee Cafe & Restaurant for anyone looking for a superb meal, excellent service, and great value. You won't be disappointed!

I tried this place on my way back to Chiang Mai from sticky waterfall. The restaurant is very well decorated, service staff are friendly and professional. Menu covers a wide range of selection. The price is consider very cheap for such food, service and nice restaurant. It is much better than those over crowded and pricey tourist restaurants in town. Everyone should definitely come and try if happened to pass by

The restaurant is hiding from main highway. It has nice ambience with collection of Star Wars characters. The food is tasty with wide varieties menu but wine list is limited. Service is second to none. I went there on weekdays, so parking is plentiful with efficient parking staff. The restaurant is worth many revisit.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food

Learn the Spice Scale

Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.

Follow the Crowds

The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.

Ice Is Safe

Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
