Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin
Tucked inside the Siam Kempinski Hotel on Rama I Road, this fine dining restaurant approaches traditional Thai cuisine through a contemporary lens, pairing classic flavour profiles with inventive preparation methods and refined presentation. The kitchen draws on deep Thai culinary heritage while introducing east-meets-west sensibilities that have built a loyal following among Bangkok regulars and international visitors alike. The dining experience is polished and considered from start to finish. A standout feature noted by repeat visitors is the kitchen tour offered by staff, giving diners a chance to meet the chef and observe meal preparation before sitting down — an unusual touch that sets the tone for the evening. The menu showcases dishes such as beef with house-made curry sauce and fragrant baked jasmine rice, and the atmosphere strikes a balance between formal and welcoming, supported by the hotel's consistently attentive service. Good to know: Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin opens daily at 18:00 and serves until midnight, making it well-suited for an unhurried dinner. Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly on weekends. Smart casual attire is appropriate at minimum, though many diners dress formally given the setting. The Siam BTS Skytrain station is within easy walking distance, making the restaurant straightforward to reach from most parts of central Bangkok, and parking is available through the hotel.

Visitor Reviews
One of the most memorable meals of our life. A big thank you to the Sra Bua team, the service team and everyone behind the team that contributed to such a wonderful, thoughtful lunch. A big thank you to khun Bas for his care and detailed explanations of each item in English and Thai. Between the tour of the kitchen, and of many of the locally sourced ingredients, we not only loved our food, but were able to appreciate the work and craft of each ingredient and where it came from in Thailand. Being here for almost 20 years, it is rare to be this pleasantly surprised by a meal and one of the rare times I can say, it was more than worth it. We will definitely go back again and it was so nice to see pride and care in each dish as well as appreciation for the talent of the Thai farmers and producers here. Lastly... thai wasabi is a must try.
I visited Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin last October during a period when the head chef was present. It had been many years since my previous visit, and while I remembered it as decent, I came this time with no real expectations. What stood out immediately was the warm, professional service — attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely welcoming. That alone set a very positive tone for the experience. The tasting menu was solid and well-executed, with flavors that felt confident and balanced. One lamb dish leaned slightly gamey for my personal preference, but aside from that, the overall meal exceeded expectations.
Absolute favorite in Bangkok which has so much amazing food to offer. The service was prompt, cordial and fun. The flavors came together spectacularly - amazing integration of east meets west and every dish hit the mark. They were able to accommodate vegetarians at our table who loved every dish too. Oh and enjoy the fun game picking out the food from the object at the end. An experience not to be missed.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
