Monty's Sports Bar & Restaurant
Monty's Sports Bar & Restaurant sits on Maenumkwai Road in Kanchanaburi town, offering a relaxed spot for travellers looking to catch a live game, enjoy a cold beer, or sit down for a proper meal. The bar is noted for its thoughtful layout and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff and a setup well suited to watching sport on screen. The food and drink menu covers more ground than a typical bar. Visitors have praised the cold beers and good food, and the breakfast offering has drawn particular attention — a full cooked breakfast with bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, tomato, mushrooms, beans, and toast is available for those wanting a familiar start to the day. The kitchen and restaurant side of the venue operates alongside the bar, making it a practical stop for meals as well as drinks. Open every day of the week from 7:00am through to midnight, Monty's suits both early risers after breakfast and evening visitors looking for somewhere to unwind. It is worth noting that the restaurant component may have separate or evolving opening arrangements, so checking ahead is advisable if dining rather than drinking is the primary reason for the visit. No website is listed, so stopping in directly or asking locally for current details is the most reliable approach.

Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
