Saints Bar & Grill
Situated directly beside Chiang Rai's famous Clock Tower on Chet Yot Road, Saints Bar & Grill has become a go-to evening spot for both long-term visitors and travellers passing through the city. The combination of a relaxed bar atmosphere and a solid grill menu sets it apart from the typical nightlife offering in the area, drawing a loyal crowd of locals and expats alongside tourists looking for a comfortable place to settle in for the evening. The kitchen turns out comfort food with a strong reputation — house-made burgers, steaks with pepper sauce, schnitzels, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, and seafood baskets all feature prominently in what regulars order. The owner is frequently mentioned as a welcoming presence, and the staff are noted for friendly service. A large TV screens football matches, adding to the social, casual vibe that defines the place. Good to know: Saints Bar & Grill opens at 5 PM every day, which makes it a convenient stop before or after the Clock Tower's nightly light show at 9 PM — a combination that several regulars specifically recommend. Sunday closing is at 11 PM, while all other nights run until midnight. No website is listed, so walk-ins are the way to go.

Visitor Reviews
My favourite hangout in Chiang Rai right next to the famous Clock Tower perfect spot for dinner and drinks before (or after) the 9pm showtime! Great comfort food I recommend Philly Cheese steak sandwich and Chili Cheese Hot Dog. The homemade apple pie is a must! 😋 The owner/manager Steve is very knowledgeable about what to do in town had a great chat with him. He's got heaps of board games and a pool table upstairs on the second floor. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
A highly recommended restaurant for all ages, located in the heart of Chiang Rai near the Clock Tower. The restaurant has a large TV for watching football matches. I especially recommend the seafood basil stir-fry (pad krapao) I've had it several times and it’s delicious at a reasonable price. There’s a wide variety of food and drinks, and the owner and staff are very friendly with great service.
Brilliant place, located right next to the clock tower. The owner is brilliant I’ve been in chiang rai for over a month and always come here. I’ve had burgers here which are amazing as they make their own buns. The BLT wins however as I eat it nearly everyday. I very recommend coming here

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
