Ella Mojito bar Chiang Rai
Ella Mojito Bar is a small, characterful cocktail bar tucked along Jetyod Road in central Chiang Rai, drawing repeat visitors with its carefully prepared drinks and genuinely warm hospitality. What sets it apart from many bars in the region is the bartender's commitment to making cocktails properly — a detail that earns consistent praise from travellers who have sampled nightlife across Thailand. The signature mojito is the headline act, but the menu extends to other cocktails, wine, beer, and healthy fruit smoothies, making it a comfortable stop for non-drinkers as well. The atmosphere strikes a balance between cosy and inviting, with warm tones and a relaxed bar setting that feels approachable rather than loud or touristy. The owner is frequently noted for going out of her way for guests — whipping up custom creations like spicy margaritas on request and greeting returning visitors with genuine enthusiasm. It has the feel of a neighbourhood local rather than a tourist trap, which may explain why so many guests find themselves coming back more than once during a short stay. Good to know: Ella Mojito Bar opens at 10:00 most days, making it an unusually early option for those who want a relaxed afternoon drink rather than a late-night outing. On Sundays, opening hours begin later at 16:00. The bar closes at midnight daily. No reservations appear to be necessary given its casual, walk-in nature.

Visitor Reviews
It's a bar that looks warm when you see it. With the atmosphere of the bar combined with the colors of the bar. Not only beer, wine also has healthy fruit smoothies. Suitable for those who do not drink alcohol, such as customers who have children with them. Including that the bar has mojito. Various flavors For example, what we chose is mojito strawberries, sour and fun to drink. Or if you want to add alcohol, you can inform the shop owner. And what I like is that there is fresh coffee available as well As well. The shop owner provides very good service, is friendly, fun to talk to, and also has UNO games to play.
Excellent bar with really yummy cocktails. Came here two days in a row because I liked it so much. The bartender knows how to properly prepare drinks here. It's not just something thrown together for you to gulp down. It's worth sipping on and savoring. And it's very reasonably priced which is a big plus. The quality of the drinks far surpasses what you'll find anywhere else in the area for the same or more in value.
This was our second visit to this cocktail bar, which we discovered while walking around Chiang Rai. It’s the first place in Thailand where we found cocktails made properly, after trying many others throughout the week. The owner was super friendly and professional, we’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to everyone!

Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
