พินันท์ ไทยฟู้ด pinan thaifood
Tucked into Tambon Wiang in central Chiang Rai, this small, unpretentious Thai food restaurant has built a loyal following among travellers who stumble upon it and keep coming back. Run by two women known for their genuine warmth and attentive service, the kitchen turns out honest, flavourful Thai cooking that consistently leaves a strong impression. Its location close to the Queen Sirikit Clock Tower makes it a convenient stop whether passing through or exploring the city centre on foot. The menu leans into classic Thai dishes executed with care. Visitor favourites include the chicken with cashew nuts, praised for its balance of flavour and heat, and the stir-fried noodles with pork, which has drawn comparisons to some of the finest meals travellers have had during extended stays in Thailand. The space itself is compact and relaxed, with a casual atmosphere that suits a quick lunch or a leisurely meal equally well. One of the owners speaks good English, which makes ordering straightforward for international visitors. Good to know: the restaurant is open seven days a week from 09:00 to 20:00, making it a reliable option for both lunch and an early dinner. Given the small size of the venue, arriving outside of peak mealtimes is a practical way to secure a seat without a wait. No website is listed, so there is no option to book ahead.

Visitor Reviews
The place is small and cozy, there are 2 women running this place, giving the best possible service, always with a big smile on their face. I've eaten here all throughout my stay in chiang mai, the food is great, cheap, and made with a lot of love Highly recommend dining here!
You get the best food in the most unexpected places. We dropped in for lunch and ordered the stir fry noodles with pork and it was one of the best meals of my whole stay in Thailand so far. Yum!
Amazing authentic thai food from a very kind woman that speaks very good English. Since we discovered it we've been there once a day. Highly recommend

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
