Peace house bar
Peace House Bar is a rasta-themed venue on Jetyod Road, widely considered one of Chiang Rai's most characterful nightlife spots. The bar stands out for its inventive décor — highlights include old televisions repurposed as aquariums and a fairy-lit outdoor backyard that gives the space a distinctly laid-back, Rastafarian aesthetic. It draws a mixed crowd of locals, travellers, and hostel groups, and has built a loyal following among those who return specifically for the atmosphere. Visitors can expect a spacious setup with an indoor bar and an outdoor area, a pool table, and a solid selection of drinks. Live music is a regular feature, with performances confirmed on Wednesday and Friday nights, though the venue has a reputation for good vibes throughout the week. The combination of creative interiors, an easygoing crowd, and consistent live entertainment makes it a reliable evening destination for those wanting something with more personality than a typical tourist bar. Good to know: Peace House Bar opens at 17:00 daily (17:30 on Sundays) and stays open until 01:00, making it a natural stop after dinner or as a starting point for a night out. Wednesday and Friday evenings offer the best chance of catching live music. The bar is popular with guests from nearby hostels, so it tends to get livelier as the evening progresses. No website is currently available, so dropping in is the easiest way to check what's on.

Visitor Reviews
I wish I could add an extra star for atmosphere! From old TV turned into aquariums, to a beautiful outdoor area with wonderful fairy lights that transport you to a Rastafarian paradise, Peace House Bar was a lovely surprise on my trip to Chiang Rai. The major highlights for me were the two friendly bartenders who kindly dealt with me asking them a bunch of questions through Google Translate while I enjoyed my Singha. I'm still upset at myself for not giving them a proper goodbye 👋 Fun fact about the Thai language there isn't really an equivalent for bye so instead Jai khan krup (see you again). And, thank you to (loin or moin) I'm not sure if I caught her name correctly for the Bobby Sox song recommendation, my new favorite Green Day song 💚 The owner is incredible too. He's an awesome guy with pretty solid English, and has lived an interesting life. I loved learning more about him. I wish I had more time to learn about the band, and how they all discovered Reggae! Which was a cultural connection I was not expecting to find in Thailand. Instead I'll cherish my memories of their exquisite playing of Bob Marley classics Please give them more business when you are in Chiang Rai ✊🏽 & tip the band for me 👏🏽
Super awesome rasta themed bar in the main bar street in Chiang Rai. Live music some days and in gently one of the best decorated bars i have seen. As I told the owner this is a top 10 bar in Thailand regarding its completeness in the theme. Very cheap prices on beverages and smiling and sweet employees all night. The Bar has a pool table in really good condition and you also have the option to buy a prerolled joint here at fair price. A must go to place when visiting Chiang Rai
Loved Peace House Bar! It's a big bar with a backyard, pool table, live music, and a big selection of drinks. Came here twice with Get Hi Hostel Chiang Rai and had fun, late nights both times! A very social place.

Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
