Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach
Compare prices
Tucked away from the bustle of central Patong on Merlin Beach, this Marriott resort offers a self-contained retreat that draws families, couples, and event guests alike. The property spans a generous footprint with three outdoor pools equipped with safety gear and pool noodles, a full-service spa, a gym, and ten restaurants and bars — enough variety that many guests find little reason to leave the grounds. Rooms are consistently praised for being spacious, quiet, and exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds and attentive housekeeping standards. The resort's staff receives frequent mention in guest feedback as a genuine highlight, with visitors noting a welcoming atmosphere from arrival through to check-out. The beachfront setting keeps things peaceful compared to the more crowded stretches of Patong, while still keeping the wider area accessible. The property also functions as a wedding and event venue, so guests may encounter celebrations during their stay, which adds to the lively but relaxed atmosphere. Practically speaking, the resort sits on Muen-Ngoen Road in Tambon Patong and is best booked well in advance, particularly for peak season between November and April when Phuket sees the highest demand. Families travelling with children will find the pool facilities and open spaces particularly well suited to longer stays. Booking directly through the Marriott website may offer loyalty benefits for Marriott Bonvoy members.

Visitor Reviews
It is indeed hard to explain how good this hotel is. Starting with the standard stuff - the rooms are great, big, quiet and super clean. Big and comfy beds. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful for literarly everything. Their concierge services are superb. The beach is AMAZING. The sand is like powder. We read that the seabottom is a bit rocky but noone told us that it is not rocks, those are corals !!! CORALS. We were mind blown. Seeing corals and all the sea life snorkeling was a dream. All the restaurants are great and of big variety. Pools are clean and big. Every hour there is some event somewhere. You can not be bored. BUT, here is why we will tell you that you need to stay there. Do not look for other place. During our stay we were dumb enough to go to the market and buy pre-cut fruits.... BIG mistake. We did that in the afternoon and in the evening our daughter started vomiting since we got a bacteria. At about 2 AM she had done that 4 times so we called the reception for help and explained the problem. After 20 min ( I am not exaggerating ) we had a doctor in our room who was fully updated on our situation. She was so prepared that she did an IV drip in the room, gave her all the needed meds and even blood sample for bacteria which on the next day turned out possitive. On the next morning, the reception called us to check on her and provide complimentary food for our child in the room. So, being in a very distant country and being hit with such a problem is not easy. But in that hotel, it really felt like home. Actually, talking to other guys we met in the hotel about this, all from EU, we all agreed that none of us could say they can get such service in their countries. :) The thing is that one vacation can be great, but it can also have some setbacks. Well, in that hotel guys, they will make sure your nice time is a great time and in your bad days you will not be alone and you will feel safe.
We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach. From start to finish everything exceeded our expectations. The pools are fantastic – plenty of space, beautifully maintained, and perfect for families. Our kids absolutely loved it, and there was always something for them to do. The staff around the pool area were outstanding – friendly, attentive and always smiling. The overall cleanliness of the resort was exceptional, from the rooms to the communal areas. It genuinely feels like a luxury resort that takes pride in every detail. The fireworks and event evenings were a real highlight and made the stay feel even more special. Those touches really set this hotel apart and created amazing memories for our family. The only small downside was that room cleaning was sometimes quite late in the day, but honestly that’s minor compared to how great everything else was. The positives outweigh the negatives by a long shot. We would highly recommend this resort and would absolutely return. 10/10 experience.
What a wonderful place to celebrate both your birthday and holiday simultaneously! It’s an excellent location, away from the city’s hustle and bustle. The friendly staff and the overall happiness in the place make it a truly special experience. We encounter many great people and places in our lives, but there are a few who leave behind unforgettable memories. A special shoutout to Patty and Filmmy at the DOGC during breakfast hours. These two staff members went above and beyond to make my day extra special by celebrating my birthday with a cake and singing. Thank you, Patty and Filmmy! We also went on excursions and returned to find another surprise waiting for me. Our room was beautifully decorated with towel art, birthday hats , and a cake. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this special. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning their holidays or celebrating someone special in their family and friends. Cheers!I

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
