Eight Phuket resorts where an all-inclusive plan really exists, from Club Med on Kata and the 24-hour Riu on Mai Khao to Coconut Island and adults-only boards at Kamala and Karon, with what each plan covers and when the drinks stop.

Phuket has two resorts where all-inclusive is simply how you stay, Club Med Phuket on Kata Beach and Hotel Riu Palace Phuket on Mai Khao, where the plan runs 24 hours. The other seven on this list sell all-inclusive as a package or board on top of a room rate, either on the resort's own site or through tour operators, so the same room can come with every meal and drink or with breakfast only. They're ranked in that order, resort-run plans first, then the resorts' own packages, then operator boards.
The beach you pick changes the trip as much as the plan does. Mai Khao is 15 to 20 minutes from the airport and quiet, with little beyond the hotels, which is when a 24-hour plan earns its keep. Kata, Karon and Kamala have restaurants and bars along the sand for a night off the package, Diamond Cliff and Merlin Beach sit either side of Patong, and the two Coconut Island resorts are a short boat ride from Laem Hin pier on the east coast.
Some resorts that appear on Phuket all-inclusive lists, Centara Grand Beach Resort, Centara Karon, Katathani, Kata Rocks and Anantara Mai Khao among them, publish no all-inclusive plan of their own, so they aren't here. For Khao Lak and Phi Phi, where Avani+, Le Méridien, Pullman and SAii sell all-inclusive, see the best all-inclusive resorts in Thailand list.

Club Med sells nothing but all-inclusive here, so buffet and à la carte meals, cocktails, wine and spirits, about 30 activities and kids' clubs up to age 17 come with every room. It sits on a long stretch of Kata Beach, about an hour south of the airport. The family choice, booked on Club Med's own site, since Booking.com doesn't list it.
The only plan on the island that never closes, since RIU's 24-hour all-inclusive covers meals, drinks and activities at six restaurants and seven bars. Quiet Mai Khao is 15 to 20 minutes from the airport, with RiuLand for children and the adults-only Elite Club for couples.
The way to do all-inclusive on an island without leaving Phuket. The free boat from Laem Hin pier takes about seven minutes, and the resort's plan covers three meals at Kucina and Kabang, house wine, spirits and cocktails until 23:00, kayaks and sailing. Good for a quiet week.
The resort Google and Tripadvisor put first for Phuket all-inclusive. Its Ultimate All-Inclusive Package adds buffet meals and drinks from 11:00 to 23:00 to a room on Tri Trang, a cove one headland south of Patong. Families get the pools and kids' club with Patong close but out of earshot.
A prepaid package of four nights or more, booked on the resort's own site, with meals at Ocean View and soft drinks, local beer and cocktails until 22:00. The hillside above north Patong lets you walk down to Bangla Road on the nights you eat out.
Thavorn's own package site sells three meals and unlimited alcoholic and soft drinks from 10:30 to 22:00 at this Karon resort with four pools and a four-story waterslide. A few steps from Karon Beach, with a kids' club, so it suits families who want the slides more than a quiet beach.
Adults-only for guests 16 and over, right on the sand at Kamala, about 35 minutes from the airport. European operators sell its all-inclusive board of buffet meals and local spirits, beer and wine from 11:00 to 23:00, with Kamala's beach bars for a change of scene. Booking.com sells the room only, so book the board through an operator.
An adults-only (18+) resort on the quiet end of Karon Beach, where German operators sell a board of buffet meals, beer, cocktails and local spirits from 11:00 to 21:00. The earliest last call on this list, with Karon's bars a short walk away. Booking.com and Expedia sell it with breakfast at most, so the board comes with an operator's package.
Yes, more than anywhere else in Thailand, though still only a handful. Club Med Phuket and Hotel Riu Palace Phuket run all-inclusive for every guest. Barceló Coconut Island, Phuket Marriott Merlin Beach, Diamond Cliff and Thavorn Palm Beach sell their own all-inclusive packages, and tour operators sell an all-inclusive board at Sunprime Kamala Beach and Beyond Karon. Most other Phuket resorts sell room and breakfast.
What is the best all-inclusive resort in Phuket?
Club Med Phuket for families and Hotel Riu Palace Phuket for anyone who wants the widest plan. Club Med includes meals, cocktails, wine and spirits, about 30 activities and kids' clubs up to age 17. Riu's plan runs 24 hours across six restaurants and seven bars. For a quiet couples' stay, Barceló Coconut Island's own plan on its small island is the alternative.
Are there adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Phuket?
Two, both sold all-inclusive through tour operators. Sunprime Kamala Beach takes guests 16 and over, with drinks from 11:00 to 23:00, and Beyond Karon takes guests 18 and over, with drinks until 21:00. Hotel Riu Palace Phuket isn't adults-only, but its Elite Club is an adults-only area inside the resort.
Is all-inclusive worth it in Phuket?
It depends on the beach. Eating out is cheap in Thailand, with a street-food meal at ฿40–80 ($1.20–$2.40), a meal in a local restaurant at ฿100–250 ($3–$7) and a bar beer at ฿60–180, so in Kata, Karon or Patong two people can eat well for less than most package supplements. On Coconut Island or Mai Khao there's little outside the gates, and that's where an all-inclusive pays for itself, as it does for families and for anyone drinking cocktails by the pool all afternoon.
Which part of Phuket is best for an all-inclusive?
Mai Khao and Coconut Island, because there's little to eat or drink outside the resorts. Mai Khao is also the closest beach to the airport, at 15 to 20 minutes. Kata, Karon and Kamala suit a package if you want the option of beach restaurants some nights, and Patong is the place for nightlife, which makes a full package less useful there.
Are drinks included at Phuket all-inclusive resorts?
Yes, but mostly house brands within set hours. Riu serves drinks around the clock and Club Med includes cocktails, wine, spirits and beer. Barceló Coconut Island and Marriott Merlin Beach serve from 11:00 to 23:00, Thavorn Palm Beach from 10:30 to 22:00, Diamond Cliff until 22:00 and Beyond Karon until 21:00. Premium spirits and wine by the bottle cost extra almost everywhere.
Can you book a Phuket all-inclusive with flights?
Yes, mostly through UK and European tour operators, which sell Sunprime Kamala Beach, Beyond Karon and Merlin Beach as flight-and-board packages. Club Med sells some packages with flights and transfers in some markets, and charges for transfers when you book flights separately. Booking the hotel alone works too, as long as the rate you choose names the all-inclusive plan.
