Baan Thai Seafood Restaurant
Tucked along Rat-U-Thit Road in Patong, this seafood restaurant earns strong and consistent praise for its commitment to fresh ingredients and genuine Thai cooking. The kitchen leans into classic coastal preparations — mussels, fresh oysters, tom yum, and papaya salad among them — but the menu is broader than it first appears, with dishes ranging from Seafood Pad Thai to beef in Thai sweet and sour sauce. Visitors have noted that staff are willing to prepare off-menu requests, which speaks to the flexibility and hospitality that repeat diners seem to appreciate. The atmosphere is relaxed and accessible, drawing a mix of tourists and locals alike. English-speaking staff make ordering straightforward for international visitors, and the pricing is consistently described as affordable relative to the quality and portion sizes on offer. The overall experience sits comfortably between a casual bite and a proper sit-down meal, making it a practical option for any evening in Patong. Good to know: Specific opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth checking directly before visiting, particularly during off-peak periods. Patong gets busy during peak tourist season, and the restaurant's popularity means tables fill up — arriving on the earlier side of the dinner window is a sensible approach if you prefer a quieter setting.

Visitor Reviews
I had a wonderful experience here. The Thai and seafood is incredibly fresh and cooked with true Thai flavors. The mussiles was juicy and rich, the Fresh oyster was perfectly seasoned, and the Papaya salad seafood was the highlight — creamy, aromatic, and full of delicious spices. Friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere make it even better. Definitely coming back!
I highly recommend this restaurant for Thai food. The tom yum was very good, without any twigs. I also found one of my favorite thai dishes here - beef in thai sweet and sour sauce with vegetables and pineapple. You can't find beef anywhere, so I highly recommend everyone try it. The service was perfect, unusually good for Thailand
Food was great and our service was even better! Our waiter went above and beyond to make a special dish for us that was not on the menu. We had a lamb curry dish with garlic and cheese naan. The lamb was super tender and very flavorful. We also got a spicy chicken appetizer which was good too, but the lamb stole the show!
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
