JJ&J Garden Pai
Tucked away from the bustle of central Pai, this garden resort sits beside the water, giving guests a tranquil base from which to explore one of northern Thailand's most beloved laid-back destinations. The property's standout feature is its host, JJ, who receives consistent praise from visitors for her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care — the kind of personal hospitality that is difficult to find at larger establishments. Rooms are described as spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and complimentary snacks and drinks included. The setting itself adds to the appeal. Guests wake up to river views and a calm, green atmosphere that feels a world away from the walking street crowds, yet the town centre is only around a 20-minute walk, keeping restaurants, cafes, and nightlife easily within reach. The property suits travellers who want a quiet retreat without sacrificing convenience. A practical note for visitors: Pai is reached via a winding mountain road from Chiang Mai, roughly three to four hours by car or minivan, so those prone to motion sickness may want to consider medication before the journey. The cool season between November and February brings the most comfortable temperatures and is peak travel time for the region, so booking ahead is strongly recommended, particularly over the Christmas and New Year period when the resort is especially popular.

This is truly an amazing place to stay in Pai. The location is peaceful and quiet, the beds are very comfortable, and the houses are spacious and have everything you need. But what really makes this place stand out is the owner, JJ. She is an incredible person with such a warm and genuine energy, and she honestly made my stay unforgettable. I can’t thank her enough for her kindness and the care she puts into this place and her guests. I highly recommend staying here, you’ll feel welcomed, relaxed, and truly looked after. Thank you again JJ! See you in the future!
JJ was absolutely amazing ! We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay and for a better hostess. She was so kind with us, always smiling , absolute gem of a person… We arrived on December 24th and she had amazing Pad Thai and beer for the guests, to welcome them with a special Christmas Dinner. JJ is the type of person you want to hug Thanks for everything, All the best 🍀
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
