The Hangout Ao Nang
Compare prices
Tucked away from the busiest stretch of Ao Nang beach, The Hangout Ao Nang is a hostel that earns its name — a place where travellers naturally gravitate toward each other without it ever tipping into party-hostel chaos. The property features pod-style beds equipped with individual power sockets, a reading light, and a small shelf, offering a degree of privacy that traditional dorm bunks rarely provide. A pool, communal spaces, and a relaxed food and drinks setup give guests plenty of reasons to linger between adventures. The atmosphere here is consistently described as social without being overwhelming, striking a balance that suits both solo travellers looking to connect and those who simply want a clean, comfortable base. Staff, including owner Andrew, receive frequent praise for being genuinely helpful and approachable rather than just transactional. Night activities and tour arrangements are available through the hostel, making it a convenient starting point for exploring Krabi's limestone karst scenery, island day trips, and the broader Ao Nang beach area, all of which are within walking distance. Good to know: Ao Nang's dry season runs from November to April, when conditions are best for beach outings and island hopping by longtail boat. The hostel manages its latest availability, events, and offers through its Instagram page, so checking there directly is the most reliable way to get up-to-date information before booking.

Such a chill and welcoming hostel! Perfect mix of relaxing spaces and a social atmosphere, they even got a pool! The beds are really comfortable and the staff is lovely, super friendly and always happy to help. They host a different event every night, including a very fun pub crawl, as well as some great tours. Highly recommend staying here!!
hung out at hang out hostel and honestly — it’s such a vibe! 🌴✨ great atmosphere, super chill staff, and tons of spaces to meet other travelers. super social without being chaotic, perfect for making friends whether you’re solo or with a group. beds are comfy, common areas are cozy, and the overall energy just feels so welcoming 😌
Chill hostel, away from the crowded beach area but still within walking distance of the beach, with night activities and tours. The owner, Andrew is super helpful and cool, the staff is friendly, and the food is good as well. My room had 2 air con machines, 2 fans, and a balcony. Beds are comfortable to sleep in.
