The Beachfront Hostel
Situated directly on the beach in the Bo Put area of Koh Samui, this hostel offers travellers something genuinely difficult to find at the budget end of the market: immediate access to the sand and sea, along with a pool and beach bar. The beachfront setting is the property's most consistent draw, and the social atmosphere appeals to independent travellers looking to connect with other guests. Staff are noted as friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant on site receives positive mentions. However, prospective guests should weigh the location advantage against a recurring concern in visitor reviews: a number of guests have reported issues with room cleanliness, including damp bedding and mold in some rooms. Experiences appear to vary, with some guests finding the accommodation comfortable and others significantly disappointed. Travellers with higher expectations for room condition and hygiene may want to review recent feedback carefully before booking. Good to know: Bo Put sits on the quieter northern coast of Koh Samui, away from the busier Chaweng beach strip, though both areas are within easy reach. Koh Samui's dry season runs from December to February, making it the most reliable time for beach activities. Check the hostel's official website for current room types, rates, and amenities, and consider requesting specific room details at the time of booking.

Visitor Reviews
Great hostel. Such a good social atmosphere and the staff are lovely too. Beds comfy and big bathrooms which is always a plus. The beachfront is beautiful and you access to a pool and beach bar if you stay in the hostel
Basically the hostel rooms are kind of gross and dirty. The beach was really nice though. Reception service was sort of mid - the restaurant service was good though but it was expensive. And yeah I found the hostel showers kind of gross too tbh 😅 It was in Chaweng central, maybe some of you might like the location but way too touristy for me. But anyways, for me the best part about it is the BEACH AND THE POOL that was so gorgeous 😍😍
The only positive about this hostel is the location. Close to everything in chaweng and had access to lovely beach. However the rooms were extremely disappointing, our beds were damp- all the other beds were the same, and it smelt like mouldy sewage. Let alone the aircon failing to keep the room cool.
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
