Nai Harn Beach

Nai Han Beach sits on the southern tip of Phuket in the Rawai area, offering a wide crescent of white sand backed by casuarina trees and rolling hills. It draws a mix of locals, expats, and travellers who appreciate its relatively unhurried atmosphere compared to busier beaches on the island's west coast. The beach is well regarded for swimming, and the natural setting — framed by a lagoon and the grounds of a hilltop club — gives it a more sheltered, scenic character. Along the beach, visitors will find umbrella and sun lounger rentals, as well as a handful of casual eateries and beach vendors. The water is generally calm and suitable for swimming during the dry season, and the western-facing shoreline makes it a popular spot for watching the sunset. The surrounding area stays lively without feeling overrun, striking a balance between convenience and a laid-back beach experience. Good to know: Nai Han is best visited between November and April, when the weather is dry and the sea conditions are at their safest for swimming. During the wet season, from May to October, strong swells can make the water rough and swimming is sometimes inadvisable. Arriving in the morning helps secure a good spot and avoids the midday heat, and the beach is easily reached by car or scooter from central Phuket town in under 30 minutes.
