Phuket FantaSea

4.4(10,373 reviews)

The show is the reason to come, and it's more or less the only reason. It's a big indoor production that runs Thai history and myth together with acrobatics, magic, ballet and pyrotechnics, and people come out of it genuinely impressed by the colour and energy of the thing. Everything else in the park is padding.

That padding matters, though, because of the timing. Gates open at 17:30 and the main performance doesn't start until around 21:00, so you're looking at a three-hour gap filled with shops, carnival stalls and a banquet-hall buffet. The carnival games are aimed squarely at small children and the prizes are cheap. The buffet splits opinion: decent variety and unlimited servings, but several people rate the quality as ordinary and the alcohol as expensive. One thing to weigh before you book, since it's a dealbreaker for some: live animals, including elephants, appear in the performance, and reviewers regularly raise that as an objection.

Reviews from Google

I arrived at 18:00 and the show didn’t start until 21:00, so the waiting time was very long, even though there are shops and activities to walk around. The show itself is amazing — full of color, energy, and a nice mix of history and magic that tells the story of Kamala in a beautiful way. The only part I really didn’t like was the use of animals, especially elephants. It doesn’t align with animal-rights values, and I personally believe the show would be even better without involving any animals. There is a strict phone policy, and you must leave your phone before entering, but the process is very organized and quick. It took me only two minutes to get my phone back after the show. Dinner is optional, and you can include it if you want.

Cultural theme park. Lovely place to visit. Large banquet hall with buffet. Food was good with decent variety and unlimited serves. Theatre show was a very entertaining history based performance with singing, dance and animal performance. Fun place to visit, good for families with children.

The show is the only thing really worth the cost and time. The buffet is of low quality with quite expensive alcoholic drinks. The rest of the carnival area is really for little kids and has very low quality carnival prizes. Without the show it would have received a 2 max 3 star. I have added the pictures.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
