Mr. Chet Longtail Boat Trip

4.9(297 reviews)

Based on Phi Phi Don island, Mr. Chet runs private longtail boat tours through some of Krabi's most celebrated marine landscapes, including Maya Bay, Monkey Bay, Viking Cave, and Camel Rock. What sets this operation apart is its personalised, private-tour format — small groups get flexibility over timing, pace, and destinations that larger commercial operators simply cannot match. Mr. Chet himself is a qualified dive guide, which means snorkelling stops are led with genuine expertise; past visitors have encountered blacktip reef sharks, sea turtles, and healthy coral formations under his guidance. Guests consistently highlight how easy the booking process is and how responsive Mr. Chet is via WhatsApp and Facebook throughout the planning stage. Tours can be tailored to start early enough to catch sunrise from the water or to visit popular sites before the crowds arrive. The traditional longtail boat experience adds an authentic local character to the day, and the intimate atmosphere means guests tend to feel well looked after rather than processed through a mass-market itinerary. Bookings are handled directly through Mr. Chet's Facebook page or WhatsApp rather than a third-party platform, so reaching out in advance is essential to confirm availability and arrange logistics. The operation runs seven days a week from 07:00 to 22:00. Bringing reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag for valuables, and water shoes for rocky shore entry is strongly advised. Those looking to visit Maya Bay should note that early departures offer calmer conditions and significantly fewer boats on the water.

Incredible experience - we couldn’t rate it higher! We booked a private tour for 4 people as we wanted to start earlier, have a longer trip and see the sunrise from the boat. We went to the Viking Cave, Phi Leh Bay, Maya Bay (perfect timing, when it was not so crowded yet), Wang Long Bay, Monkey Beach, Nui Beach. We went snorkeling in an incredible place where no one else was there. It was full of fishes, starfishes and we even saw some sharks. In some of the stops we also had time for swimming, exploring caves, paddleboarding (he had one for us!) or laying on the beach. We had lunch and fruits on the boat. Koko was an amazing tour guide, he explained things, took A LOT of pictures that he passed to us completely free of charge. You could see that he’s very passionate about his job and does his best to offer an amazing tour. The prices were very honest and absolutely worth the experience. It was the best tour we had in Thailand (and we did many). Thank you so much Koko!!!

We booked Mr Chet after reading some good reviews on some travel blogs was not disappointed . Excellent professional service from 1st time of contact up to the actual day of booking couldn’t fault a thing. Mr Chet and his crew made the whole experience a very memorable one for all of us. As well as spend the day on the boat visiting different location getting to snorkel with all the awaking fish along with Turtles and Sharks was the icing on the cake . Would have no hesitation in booking or recommending others to use Mr Chets boat service

Wonderful day or sight seeing and snorkelling! Highly recommended - Mr. Chet is very knowledgeable and has real passion for the islands and wide life. He’s also a dive guide so our snorkelling always included lots of fish, corals and the odd friendly reef shark!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
