Koh Phi Phi to Krabi Ferry

Krabi Town has three piers with boats from Phi Phi. The ferries land at Klong Jilad, a few kilometers south of the center. Songserm and Andaman Wave Master leave Tonsai at 10:30 and 15:30 for ฿490, and the cheapest boat of the day leaves at 13:30 for ฿450, all about two hours. Phantip sells the 10:30 and 15:30 sailings with a drop at a Krabi Town hotel for about ฿600.

The speedboats are spread through the day and take about an hour. Andaman Shuttle, Chaokoh and Tigerline land at Kong Ka pier in town, PP Cabana's catamaran (฿790) and Phi Phi Logistic's speedboat go to Krabi River Marina at 10:00 and 16:45, and Andaman Wave Master's speedboats go to Klong Jilad. If you missed the last ferry, the 16:45 to River Marina is the last boat into town.

Ao Nang's boats land at Nopparat Thara pier, at the quiet west end of the beach. Bundhaya's speedboats leave Tonsai at 10:30 and 13:30 (and 16:15 in December) and take about an hour for about ฿900, Koh Yao Sun Smile's 13:00 costs about ฿820, and Andaman Wave Master's 15:30 about ฿1,000. Several of them also sell the boat with a van to your Ao Nang hotel.

The Ao Nang Princess is the steady, cheaper ride. It leaves Tonsai at 14:30, calls at Railay East at 16:15 and reaches Ao Nang at about 16:30, and the operator's ฿650 fare includes a van to your hotel. In December 12Go also lists a 09:30 sailing. I'd take it on a choppy day; a big ferry rolls less than a speedboat.

There's no airport on Phi Phi, so a flight home starts with the boat. The simple way is a ticket that includes the van. The ferry-and-van tickets ride the 10:30, 13:30 and 15:30 ferries to Klong Jilad and reach the airport about three hours after leaving Tonsai, for about ฿790–1,090. The speedboat-and-van tickets from Bundhaya, Tigerline, Ramon and others leave from 08:45 to 17:00 and take an hour and a half to two hours, for about ฿1,170–1,800, and PP Cabana's catamaran-and-van tickets at 10:00 and 16:45 cost about ฿790–890. Klong Jilad is about 30 minutes from the airport by road if you'd rather sort the car yourself.

For an afternoon flight, take the 10:30 ferry, which reaches the airport at about 13:30, or a morning speedboat. For an evening flight, the 15:30 ferry gets you there about 18:30 and the last speedboat-and-van tickets about 18:15 to 19:00. Speedboats are the first boats canceled in a swell, so in the monsoon months I'd take an earlier boat than you need.

Laem Tong has its own boats, so you don't need a longtail back to Tonsai. Andaman Wave Master's ferries leave at 09:30 and 14:00, call at Tonsai and reach Klong Jilad about three hours later, for ฿750 standard (฿1,150 first class, ฿1,450 premium). Its speedboats leave Laem Tong at 10:00, 10:30 and 15:00 for Klong Jilad, at 12:15 for Railay East and at 15:45 for Railay East and Ao Nang, for about ฿1,300–1,350, and Phi Phi Logistic runs to Krabi River Marina at 09:00 and 13:30 for about ฿1,600. Confirm the pickup with your hotel the day before.

Going out, the ferries leave Klong Jilad at 09:00, 10:30 and 13:30, the Ao Nang Princess leaves Ao Nang at 09:30, and speedboats run from Ao Nang, Railay and Krabi Town until 16:00. The Krabi to Koh Phi Phi guide has every departure by pier.
