Koh Phi Phi to Phuket Ferry

Take the Boat That Fits Where You're Going in Phuket

Koh Phi Phi to Phuket takes about two hours on the big ferries or an hour by speedboat, and almost every boat lands at Rassada Pier on Phuket's east coast, 10 minutes from Phuket Town. The ferries leave Tonsai pier at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, 14:30 and 15:30 (the last one, Chureang's, lands at 17:30), and a standard seat costs about ฿500–700. Speedboats leave through the day until about 17:00 for ฿750–850. From Rassada a taxi is about ฿700 to Patong and ฿800 to Kata, Karon or the airport, or you can buy a ferry ticket that includes a van to your hotel. If you're staying at Laem Tong, boats leave from there too, about 3 hours on the ferry or 1.5 by speedboat. For a flight the same day, take a morning boat. Below you'll find every departure, the boats from Laem Tong, and how to get from the pier to Patong, the beaches, Phuket Town or the airport.

Key Facts (2026)

Big ferries take about 2 hours, from about ฿500

From Tonsai at 09:00 (Phi Phi Cruiser, Seatran), 10:00 (Chaokoh), 11:00 (Andaman Wave Master, Seatran), 14:00 (Chaokoh, Seatran), 14:30 (Andaman Wave Master, Phi Phi Cruiser, Seatran) and 15:30 (Chureang). About ฿500–700 standard.

Speedboats take about an hour, until about 17:00

Bundhaya, Phi Phi Logistic, PP Sabai, PP Cabana, Kanichta and Andaman Wave Master leave Tonsai between about 08:30 and 17:00 for ฿750–850.

Most boats land at Rassada, near Phuket Town

A few use piers about 1 km north of Rassada, and one speedboat from Laem Tong goes to Ao Po Grand Marina in the northeast. Check the arrival pier on your ticket before you book a car.

From the pier, about ฿700–800 by taxi

The pier taxi counter charges about ฿700 to Patong and ฿800 to Kata, Karon, Phuket Town and the airport for up to three people. Ferry tickets with a van drop cost about ฿600–950.

For a same-day flight, take a morning boat

The airport is 40–55 minutes from Rassada. Allow about five hours from the boat's departure to your flight, so the 09:00–11:00 ferries suit an afternoon flight and a 14:00–14:30 boat an evening one.

Laem Tong has its own boats

Andaman Wave Master's ferries leave Laem Tong at 10:00 and 13:30 (about 3 hours), and speedboats from about 07:50 to 15:15 (1.5 hours, ฿1,200–1,300). Confirm through your hotel the day before.

Going to Patong, Kata or Karon

A ferry ticket with a van, or a ฿700–800 taxi from the pier

Patong and the west-coast beaches are 18–19 km from Rassada, over the hill, about 25 minutes without traffic and 40–45 in the late afternoon. The simplest way is a ferry ticket that includes a van drop at your hotel, about ฿600–950 depending on the operator, or Ramon's and Phantip's boat-and-coach tickets from the 09:00 and 14:00 sailings (about ฿680–830) to Patong, Kata and Karon. Otherwise the pier's taxi counter charges about ฿700 to Patong and ฿800 to Kata or Karon for a car of up to three.

Grab works, but drivers can't always come up to the terminal, so you may walk out to the road with your bags to meet them. With luggage and a group, the counter taxi is often easier.

Going to Phuket Town

Ten minutes by taxi, or the pink songthaew

Rassada is only about 3.5 km from the Old Town, so Phuket Town is the easiest place to stay after Phi Phi. A taxi takes about 10 minutes, and the pink songthaew runs from the pier to Ranong Road in town, past Bus Terminal 1, roughly every 20–30 minutes until about 20:00, for about ฿10–15. Ramon's boat-and-coach ticket goes to Bus Terminal 2 if you're traveling on by bus the same day.

Going Straight to Phuket Airport

A morning boat, then 40 to 55 minutes by car

There's no airport on Phi Phi, so every flight home starts with the boat. The airport is about 35 km from Rassada, 40 to 55 minutes by car, and the pier counter charges about ฿800. Plan on about five hours from the boat's departure to your flight time, which covers two hours on the ferry, an hour to get off and into a car, under an hour on the road, and check-in. That makes the 09:00, 10:00 and 11:00 ferries the right ones for an afternoon flight and the 14:00–14:30 boats the latest for an evening flight. A speedboat saves an hour, but it's the first thing canceled in rough weather, so don't cut it fine in the monsoon months.

If you're staying at Laem Tong, Phi Phi Logistic's 14:00 speedboat lands at Ao Po Grand Marina in the northeast, closer to the airport than Rassada.

Rassada Pier → Phuket Airport (HKT)

From the Phi Phi boat to your flight

A pre-booked Kiwitaxi with code THAILAND5 meets you at Rassada and takes you to the airport for a fixed price, about 40 to 55 minutes, so you're not negotiating at the pier with a flight to catch.

Leaving From Laem Tong

Your own ferries and speedboats from the north of the island

Laem Tong has direct boats, so you don't need to go back to Tonsai. Andaman Wave Master's ferries leave at 10:00 and 13:30, call at Tonsai and reach Rassada about three hours later, for about ฿800–900 standard. The speedboats from Andaman Wave Master and Seatran leave from about 07:50 to 15:15 and take about 1.5 hours for ฿1,200–1,300. The operator asks you to confirm the pickup through your hotel reception the day before.

Going the Other Way, Phuket to Phi Phi

Ferries from Rassada at 08:30 to 15:00, speedboats until 15:30

The ferries from Rassada leave at 08:30, 08:45, 11:00, about 13:30, 13:45 and 15:00, and speedboats run until 15:30. The Phuket to Phi Phi guide has every departure, the Laem Tong boats and getting to Rassada from the airport.
