Why go, and how to do it well
Come for the spectacle and give yourself time to enjoy the grounds first. The gates open at 17:30 and the park, the village setup, the statues and the decorated walkways are half the point. Turn up right on opening and you'll get the place close to empty. Leave it late and you're rushing.
The buffet is the add-on worth taking. People rave about the spread, and the pad Thai, green curry and som tam get named again and again, though vegetarians should know the choices thin out. Eat first, then wander, then take your seat. As for the show itself, the staging and effects are the draw, and the staff speak good English and look after guests properly. One honest caveat: you don't choose your seat. If you're allocated the far sides, the sightlines suffer, and that's the single most common complaint. No photos or recording inside the theater either.

Reviews from Google
We must have gone on a good day because it wasn't over crowded. Nice and peaceful strolling around the park. Park opens at 5:30pm we got there just after 5pm only 2 other people there. We went on a Wednesday. I recommend getting tickets online for a cheaper price. We bought tickets with buffet included, the food is really good they have many different options available. I recommend going to get food first so you don't miss anything during the night. We did the buffet first, then 100 year village, then the mini show, then the main show. When you go to the 100 year village go see the boat ride first. It's a extra 50 baht per person and I believe they take 2 people a time. It's a quick 5 minute ride on the river around the houses. You can also walk around try all little snacks, take plenty photos, and make art. When it's time for the mini show that starts at 7:30pm but people will start coming to get good seats around 7pm-7:15pm That was really entertaining I loved the dancing and costumes, they will also invite the audience to join. Then the main show starts at 8:30pm and goes for about 2 hours. Your not allowed photos/videos inside they have security flashing you if you try, but at the end they will allow photos outside you can take with the performers. The main show itself was amazing. People flying, rain and thunder, a river with boats all inside. Also a heads up you may get called on stage. We bought the gold seats now you don't get to pick which seat specifically to sit you can only pick the section. We had pretty good seats, we were in Gold G3 but I would try getting seats in G1 for closer seats to the stage but at some point they will perform in the audience and they'll be behind you so maybe get Platum seats so you don't miss that. I'm not sure how well the people at the back could see because the stage is quite far away I think they should use a big screen for the people in the back row since we can't take photos to zoom in on the play. Overall it was a great night I definitely recommend.
Gorgeous experience. I was left super super impressed, way more than I even imagined. Food is across the board simply delicious with a decent amount of options, and considering it's all you can eat buffet, it's amazing. The people are all genuinely kind and friendly, the decorations and overall vibe are definitely there, the costumes, the colours, the statues, everything. And then the show is a delightful experience to close everything up. You cannot record or take photos but it's absolutely worth it. Not too many people overall the day we've been here which made it all even more enjoyable as I don't know how crazy and crowded it can become during the peak season. Absolutely a must do in Phuket.
If you are first time coming to Phuket, this might be a good time to watch the cultural show. It’s a good performance by the staff and careful & detailed planning stage performance. However, you are not able to choose the seats and the viewing experience might be disappointing if your seat is allocated at the sides. The location is a bit far from patong. So do factor in the transport time during the peak hours. (5-7pm). Phuket or rather Patong area is a bit crazy for jams due to the narrow roads
