The Fun Garden

4.8(117 reviews)

Tucked away in the Ao Nang area of Krabi, The Fun Garden is a family-oriented play and activity space built around a Montessori-inspired philosophy. It offers a mix of outdoor and open-air indoor play areas designed for children of varying ages, from toddlers to older kids, and has earned a loyal following among both local families and visiting tourists. The venue also functions as a cafe and light dining spot, serving iced coffees, teas, crepes, and snacks, making it a comfortable place for parents to relax while children play. The atmosphere is notably calm and unhurried. Visitors consistently highlight how uncrowded the space tends to be, a welcome contrast to the busier tourist attractions along the Ao Nang strip. The garden has hosted birthday parties and longer visits alike, with staff praised for being accommodating. Play areas are varied enough to keep children engaged across multiple visits, and the setting has a pleasant, natural feel that suits the relaxed pace of a Krabi holiday. Good to know: The venue is described as somewhat off the beaten path relative to central Ao Nang, so it is worth arranging transport in advance, particularly if travelling with young children. Current pricing is not listed online and the menu has recently been updated, so it is advisable to check directly with the venue before visiting to confirm what is currently on offer. The dry season, running from November to April, offers the most reliable weather for enjoying the outdoor areas.

Great place for kids to play. Our nieces (4 and 6) love it. We've been here several times and it's never been crowded. Ignore the whiny reviews. Reasonable prices. Iced coffee and tea drinks are good. Food is good for a kids play area. If a menu has burgers, chicken nuggets and crepes, don't expect gourmet Thai cuisine. Yes call ahead before you come to make sure they're open - That's good advice in Thailand generally. The biggest negative - no Wifi. 😱

We've been bringing our daughter here since she was a baby its a great outdoor and indoor open air play area for kids of all ages. Its often very quiet as well which we love. There's not many options in the chong phli area for kids so its well worth a visit!

New menu is out! Unfortunately sugar crepes that we loved are no longer on it but still lots of options. It's so much better without the fee to play and the kids love the variety of activity areas. Only wish it was a little further from the road as the traffic can make it loud and polluted at times.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
