The Elephant Sanctuary Krabi is a small family-run sanctuary in Nong Thale, inland from Ao Nang, home to three elephants called Boo Boo, Mae Nom and Mae Noi. There's no riding. The visit is hands-on, and you feed the elephants and give them their supplements, join them for a mud spa and then bathe with them before a shower and a snack.
There are two half-day programs, a morning one starting with pick-up between 08:00 and 08:45 and an afternoon one from 13:00. Each runs about three hours at the sanctuary, with tea, coffee, snacks and seasonal fruit included, and bookings go through the sanctuary's own reservation system. World Animal Protection advises against bathing with elephants, so if a hands-off visit matters to you, one of the observation-led sanctuaries near Ao Nang is the better choice.
