Safari Park Kanchanaburi
Located in Bo Phloi district, this open-air safari park offers a hands-on wildlife experience where visitors tour designated zones by bus or private vehicle while animals move freely alongside them. The giraffes are a consistent highlight, drawing particular praise from visitors for how close they come to the vehicle windows. Animal feeding from the bus is available and adds an interactive element that sets this apart from a conventional zoo visit. The park is divided into sections, with the drive-through safari being the strongest drawcard. Some visitors note that a secondary area featuring animal shows receives more mixed reactions, so it is worth managing expectations about the full experience. The drive-through portion typically takes two to three hours, making it a manageable half-day activity. Families with older children and adults tend to get the most out of the format, as the close proximity of animals can be overwhelming for very young children. Safari Park Kanchanaburi pairs naturally with other regional attractions such as the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Death Railway, and it appears on several organised day tours bookable through platforms like Klook. Specific opening hours and pricing are not readily available online, so confirming details locally or through a tour operator before visiting is advisable. Morning visits during cooler hours and on weekdays are generally the better option to avoid heat and larger crowds.

Visitor Reviews
I visited Kanchanaburi Safari Park recently and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The park offers a unique chance to get extremely close to the animals, especially the giraffes, which was definitely the highlight of the visit. Being able to feed them from the safari bus and take photos up close is something you don’t get in most places. The giraffes are gentle and curious, making it fun for both adults and kids. The safari drive-through section is interesting as well, with a good variety of animals such as deer, zebras, ostriches, and camels. The ride is smooth, and the staff make sure everyone gets a chance to enjoy the feeding and photo moments. The views around the park are also beautiful, with greenery and mountains in the background adding to the overall atmosphere. That said, some areas of the park could be improved. A few enclosures look a little older and may benefit from future upgrades. Also, expect it to be quite crowded during weekends and holidays, especially around the giraffe-feeding zone. Despite these minor points, it’s still a memorable and family-friendly attraction worth visiting. If you enjoy animal encounters and want an up-close experience, Kanchanaburi Safari Park is definitely worth checking out.
Visited the drive-through safari at Safari Park Kanchanaburi and it was a very unique experience. We got super close to the animals and even had the chance to feed them from the car, which made it really memorable. It was extremely hot during the day, so I’d recommend coming early in the morning for a more comfortable visit. Definitely worth the trip!
Visited the Safari Park (as part of the Kanchanaburi Safari, Bridge over the river Kwai & death railway tour booked on Klook). Nice time at the Safari park. The giraffes 🦒 were definitely the highlight of the park. AMAZING experience being so close to the giraffes, hilarious 😂 Didn't particularly enjoy the crocodile or elephant shows, does not seem ethical knowing what they do to the animals to make them perform. The restaurant at the park was very authentic.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
