Sak Yant Chiang Mai is an office on Arak Road in Chiang Mai's Old City that arranges sak yant with a group of local ajarns and monks rather than one master. You can be tattooed in town by an ajarn, hand-tapped, or go out to a countryside temple to be tattooed by a monk, and English-speaking assistants translate and explain the etiquette. It leans on the northern Lanna tradition, with a design book of several hundred yant.
Its own prices start at ฿2,000–3,500 an hour in town, offering included. A temple trip for a small or medium design costs ฿3,500 for the first person and ฿2,000 for each extra one, covering transport, with the offering to the monk paid on top. Women go to the temple too but are tattooed by an ajarn, not the monk. It says it uses new ink and needles for every guest, and you can book online or walk in.
