Tucked within a quiet pocket of Chiang Mai's historic Si Phum district, Villa Alanna is an upmarket boutique hotel that draws travellers seeking a refined, understated retreat in the heart of northern Thailand. The property features an outdoor pool, a spa, and in-house dining, creating a self-contained atmosphere that balances relaxation with easy access to the city's cultural landmarks. Guests consistently praise the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, and the rooms are noted for their generous proportions, including spacious living areas and well-appointed bathrooms. The location sits roughly ten minutes on foot from Chiang Mai's main attractions, which suits those who prefer a quieter setting away from busier tourist corridors while still remaining well connected. Room configurations accommodating larger groups have drawn positive feedback for their comfort and practicality. A few things are worth considering before booking. Families travelling with young children should review the hotel's policies carefully, as some guests with toddlers have found certain house rules added stress to their stay. The hotel also appears to enforce its terms firmly, so it is advisable to read the booking conditions thoroughly and clarify any questions directly with the property before confirming a reservation. For couples and adult groups looking for a polished, peaceful base in Chiang Mai, Villa Alanna consistently delivers a high-quality experience.

Visitor Reviews
My wife and I stayed at the Villa Alanna in Chiang Mai Feb 12th through Feb 15th, 2026. Out of all of the hotels we stayed at during our time in Thailand, Villa Alanna may have been the best. It's a boutique hotel right next to the Old City. It's also conveniently located next to a 7-Eleven, and the hospital too. There is plenty of room for Taxi's or Grab's to pick you up in front of the hotel, so getting out and about was never an issue. The hotel itself was really charming, and the room décor was really well done. I particularly loved the lighting, especially in the bathroom. Bringing your kids would be fine for this hotel, but I think it seems better for couples only. The staff (Nick) in particular as well as others (Prun Prun...I believe) were incredibly kind and warm. You could tell they genuinely loved hearing about your day and were very accommodating to all of our needs. In response to other comments about noise issues, I didn't have an issue with that at all. We barely heard the traffic in our room on the first floor, and if we did it was maybe an ambulance on occasion, very briefly. Besides, tell me one hotel in Chiang Mai that doesn't have traffic rushing past at all times of the day and night. It's a busy, noisy city, what do you expect? I can promise you, unless you're way too uptight, the noise level is just fine. My wife and I would absolutely stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat.
For those who have been here, the location could be subjective. It’s 10 minutes walk from interesting places so maybe that’s a negative or positive, but to me it is a positive thing; meaning it’s less crowded with a nice quiet comfort surroundings but if you get the front room next to the road, you will hear traffic during the daytime, but during the night time, it quieten down quite a bit. The room is really really nice. Very comfortable bed and pillow, the air-conditioner works well, lots of clean towels, refrigerator and a safe as standard and you get 4 bottles of water free. The hotel has an adjacent restaurant you could order from and the price is consistent to the level of clientele it serves I never really ordered from them. The staff were very helpful and friendly. True for most places in Thailand. I really have no complaints. It’s pretty much perfect for what I needed and was looking for. So yes, I recommend this place especially for couples.
The staff's hospitality is excellent!! They are all friendly and helpful. Four of my female friends stayed in one room, and it was comfortable with a spacious living room, two showers, and two toilets. Breakfast is not a buffet but rather a pre-selection type, but whatever you choose, it is delicious and the portions are ample.
