The Old City Spa - Ice Bath, Finnish Sauna, Himalayan Salt Far-Infrared Sauna, Magnesium Hot Bath, Thai Herbal Steam Room
Tucked down a small alley on Intha Warorot Road in Chiang Mai's historic Old City district, this wellness facility brings together an unusually comprehensive range of thermal therapies under one roof. The lineup includes an ice bath cold plunge, a Finnish sauna, a Himalayan salt far-infrared sauna, a magnesium hot bath, and a Thai herbal steam room — a combination that caters equally to recovery-focused visitors and those simply seeking deep relaxation. Guided breathwork sessions are also available, adding a structured wellness dimension beyond the self-directed thermal circuit. The atmosphere is calm and well-maintained, with a thoughtful attention to detail that extends to complimentary amenities including shorts, indoor sandals, a towel, and drinking water with jasmine and chamomile tea. The space regularly hosts small groups without feeling overcrowded, and the contrast between the hot and cold facilities is the core draw for most visitors. Entry is priced at 450 baht for a two-hour session, which covers access to all facilities. The spa operates daily from 10:00 to 22:00, making it accessible around most travel itineraries. Arriving mid-morning on a weekday tends to offer a quieter experience. No need to bring additional gear as towels, sandals, and shorts are provided on arrival. Checking the Facebook page before visiting is advisable for any updates on availability or special programming.

Visitor Reviews
An exceptional experience. The sauna is beautifully maintained, offering steady, relaxing heat, while the cold plunge provides an invigorating contrast that leaves you refreshed and energized. The atmosphere is calm and refined, with meticulous attention to cleanliness and temperature control. I left feeling genuinely restored, both physically and mentally. A remarkable wellness spot that I look forward to visiting again.
Had a fantastic guided breathwork session with Jason, followed by a cold plunge and a sauna. The facility is beautiful and the whole experience was incredible from start to finish. Thank you to Jason and the staff at Old City Spa for the great experience — and the food was super tasty too! Highly recommend.
Enjoyed this far more than I thought I would. Really lovely spa with two cold plunges, steam room, sauna, infrared room, and showers. They also provided drinking water, jasmine tea, chamomile tea, and mini pineapple tarts which were yummy! 450 baht per entry.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
