Why go, and how to do it well
The Siriraj Medical Museum is a group of teaching collections at Siriraj Hospital, Thailand's oldest hospital and medical school, on the Thonburi bank of the river. It brings together the Ellis Pathology Museum, the Songkran Niyomsane Forensic Medicine Museum, the Parasitology Museum, the Congdon Anatomical Museum and the Sood Sangvichien Prehistoric Museum. The forensic rooms are the ones people call the Museum of Death, and many of the exhibits are real human specimens, so it isn't a museum for young children.
The ticket also covers the Siriraj Bimuksthan Museum in the hospital grounds, a history museum about the river, the old Bangkok Noi district and Siamese medicine, with an old ship on display. Give the pair two hours. Photography isn't allowed inside the Medical Museum, and bags go in the luggage room.
Both are open 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday to Monday, and closed on Tuesdays and public holidays, and the Congdon anatomy rooms close at 16:30. The two-museum ticket is ฿300 for foreign visitors, ฿100 for Thai citizens and ฿50 for children under 18, and ticket sales stop at 16:00. The cross-river ferries from Tha Chang and Tha Phra Chan land at Wang Lang pier beside the hospital, and the express boat stops at the Thonburi Railway pier.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
Go Early Morning
Big-name temples are dramatically less crowded in the first hour after opening. You'll also avoid the worst of the midday heat and get softer light for photos.
