Ton Mayom is a humble southern Thai eatery on Thep Krasattri Road in Ratsada, just north of Phuket Town, with its tables under the leafy canopy of the old mayom (star gooseberry) tree it's named after. The MICHELIN Guide gives it a Bib Gourmand for the Phuket town classics it cooks, and the dish its inspectors single out is the local fish, deep-fried and topped with a fragrant curry paste.
It sits in the cheapest price band on the MICHELIN Guide and is a lunch place as much as a dinner one, open from 09:00 to 20:00 every day except Wednesday. It's a short drive north of Old Town, so it pairs well with a morning on Thalang Road.
